I mean if you have $1.6M for a car, one that you’ll potentially never actually drive, you probably don’t worry too much about not putting your eyes on it in person.

I do not understand the need for some shitty looking black trim around the wheel wells on so many CUV/SUVs. It looks particularly terrible here, but same with the RAV4 and so many others.

So what is the upside of this thing? Is it supposed to be special just because it is a JDM import?

Seems like it is in good shape.  I’d prefer a wagon myself, but probably a NP overall.

Do these companies think their software is so secure that someone won’t crack it and unlock the features for free? Are they going to go around inspecting privately owned Zero bikes to ensure they didn’t unlock “performance boost” without paying?

Not sure how old you are, but as a fellow CNY native, I remember a lot of Jeeps and Chrysler products in general (back before New Process Gear closed). Then GM products - lots of Blazers, Grand Ams and Grand Prixes. I guess maybe some of the retired Fisher Guide workers still had discounts to take advantage of.

Yeah it would be a gamble that you could clean this one up for less than $4k and have it be as nice.  The other one looks completely done.

Unless they are also trying to mark up a Stinger $10k (after discounting them $10k nine months ago), then a K5 for Stinger money is a hard sell.  Never mind what it might buy elsewhere.

Even the most reckless guy I knew wouldn’t burn out through a red light in front of the cops. While young guys in a Mustang might be able to ignore the potential for consequences, they are at least trying to not get caught.  

I think it looks clunky with the ragtop, and the interior gives me a headache. 

My wife likes Tesla’s “dog mode”, but otherwise was turned off by the idea of having to stop to charge on a trip, price, and the Model Y isn’t big enough. We aren’t spending Model X money on any vehicle, and even that doesn’t have a ton of cargo space.

I have a chicken coop. Pre-pandemic I ate eggs periodically. Gave a lot of them away. Pandemic starts, start working from home. Two eggs and toast for breakfast, just about every day. Cholesterol wasn’t a problem before eating a lot of eggs. It wasn’t at my physical earlier in the year. We’ll see what happens next…

My favorite dealership interaction was actually on the service side.  I called about a part for my Civic.  Response “with the V6 right?”.  Yes, the Honda Civic with a V6. 

We were basically told to read the glossy marketing books on the sales floor for the car info. Being a young person, I also used the internet.

Same, and that experience includes being a part of a sales team at a car dealership. Half the people didn’t flinch at just throwing bogus information out there. It wasn’t like they were over selling the car either, lying to make the product sound better, they just didn’t know what they were talking about. Lucky for…

A 20 year old minivan doesn’t look like this one unless the owner actually cared about its upkeep.  For $2k, it is a no-brainer. 

When someone I knew hit a deer, they had some country types showing up in their pickups to claim the venison not long after the police showed up to document. Car had to be towed, and the deer was dead from the collision.
