Seems like you could get 500 hp out the Hemi that came with the SRT8 with far less effort and it might actually run right now.  Odd project other than to say you have a V10.

When I commuted 22k miles a year, I wanted a relatively inexpensive, reliable vehicle with a low overall cost of ownership. It sips gas, has 15" tires, brake pads last forever, otherwise just needs regular maintenance. The Prius also has surprising utility with its hatchback. Capable enough to do battle in major metro

Questionable project car (BMW made a manual 335...so what broke or was damaged?), being sold after only 9,000 miles has to make you believe this thing is a grenade with the pin pulled.

I too got stuck with one as a rental once. Had to travel a couple hours by highway and all I could think of is “how do people live with these things”.

People don’t buy Toyotas because they are the most comfortable or have the best performance.  They buy them because they are Toyotas and shouldn’t empty their wallet as soon as the warranty expires.  Cue the stories of crappy Toyota ownership experiences.

Yeah I’m going to buy the game, now just sell me a Series X to go with it.

Yup.  If you don’t wear a seat belt today, you’re doing it on purpose.  These people will just buy these things to bypass it.

I have flown from Germany to Istanbul with a stop in Zurich. As much as I hate flying (although Euro carriers are better than U.S.), it beats this trip.

I was going to say the same thing.  I get it on a weekend sports car where you want a nice exhaust note.  But on a daily?  I took a road trip with a buddy in college who had a performance exhaust on his car.  I wish I had the ear plugs noted in one of the responses here.  No thanks.

What do they drive when the snow is like that?  I guess you could put winter tires on them...

Someone can look real impressive with enough debt, but have little cash left at the end of the month.

Yeah that is what I am doing right now.  One set of stairs is in rough shape though.

Bought a house in 2019. Planned to refresh a car in 2020...it wasn’t worth trying in the middle of the pandemic. Luckily it doesn’t need to be replaced.

Realistically?  I thought I might have a shot at a late 90's Prelude, Accord Coupe, Integra.  Ended up with a Civic.

There is one for sale in my area.  $91k though, so I’m going to pass on that one.

Corvette. C3 or earlier. I’m sure there were others he liked, but Corvettes stand out.  I’m also betting he wouldn’t turn down a newer model.

Everyone that tries sells a few hundred of them and that is it. I’d love more wagons to, but know why they don’t sell them.

Yeah you would think they would want to sell a E63 over a E350.  Potentially more profitable, and it caters to customers who probably own multiple cars (potentially multiple M-Bs).

I cannot imagine buying one of these (especially with deferred maintenance) when a few more bucks gets you in the running for a 456 or a 348. Stretch your budget to $50k and you can go after a 355.  Lets face it, if you can afford a $35k toy that comes with Ferrari’s maintenance bills, you can probably put a few more

Good call on the Prelude, but probably impossible to find one that didn’t get abused by someone thinking they were joining Dom’s crew by hitting the Pep Boys accessory section as hard as possible.
