I haven’t put mine in rest mode yet with a game running. I have tried rest mode with nothing running and it was fine. I only did it once just to test and haven’t tried again since. After reading all these horror stories, I always turn off my PS5 completely. I’m not using rest mode fully until Sony gives the all-clear.

Interesting. For what it’s worth I’ve just been using a multi port Anker USB charger that I also use to charge my iPad and other devices. I’m also not using the supplied cable. The controller seems to charge fine.

Hmmm, I actually prefer the newer sound, feels more futuristic (in line with the console design itself) and I’d be disappointed if they went back to the old one. That said, the ability to customise them would indeed be very welcome, pretty sure I’d go for the “!” sound from MGS.

I was really bummed when they killed off Desmond at the end of AC III (especially now that Nolan North has talked about where the series was originally supposed to take the character) but I actually found the AC IV Abstergo employee stuff weirdly compelling. The campaign is fantastic (it’s basically Marvel Uncharted) and worth the price of admission. The whole multiplayer endgame is something that could be good eventually but currently feels more like a bonus mode than an actual game.

I’m having a lot of fun with this game based on the fighting mechanics alone. I find them addictively enjoyable to play, and the variety of characters and how distinct they are from each other helps keep it lively.
There isn’t a lot of content as people are saying, it’s all familiar-feeling missions in cut-and-paste…

It’s a pretty good game in most respects, but at this point, I’d argue that it so far hasn’t been worth $60.
