For a game like Final Fantasy VII which has a lot of characters in the base game, but also so many, many more in all of its compilation material, it was surprising they still managed to inject even more into this story. I first wanted to groan when Roche appeared like, “Oh great, more people to inject into this

That’s a nice endorsement for the JP audio. I was planning on maybe switching to that on my Hard mode run. Nice.

While that part is necessary to give Barret some much-needed depth to his character, fleshes him and his past out a bit more, it’s about all he has in the game. He does not have any sort of arc like that of other characters (even Cait Sith has a bigger arc than he does I would argue). Barret gets the short stick with

Awesome. I knew there was some Tifa & Aerith choice/influence mechanics, but I had no idea it affected that. Very interesting.

Ok, I haven’t used aero much so that’s good to know. I think the flying drake enemies can use “Tornado” which might also have a similar effect. I’ve tried outrunning it but with no luck.

I’ve had several criticisms of the original (a game that I consider very strong in its strengths, and very weak in its weaknesses), and chief among them is that the combination of bad graphics, poor dialogue by some characters, characters who come off as one-dimensional cartoons (*cough* Barret *cough*), and etc. made

“bOrRoWeD fRoM a PeDiAtRiC nUrSe...”

So sick of those posts. As if a pediatric nurse is an expert on infectious diseases.

I’ll have to try it out some more. I’m trying to remember but I think for some enemies, particularly some human enemies like the Shinra soldiers it does freeze them in place like you said. I tried it on a flying enemy in the coliseum however, and it was a total no-go.

Initially I was a little annoyed about the interruption mechanic. Was fighting a certain boss in chapter 14 and my spells were getting interrupted, and as noted, I was losing both the MP and ATB charges which felt like BS. Part of me wanted to compare it og FFVII but I knew that wasn’t fair and the mechanics of this

You think that’s bad? I found myself in an unusual situation last night where I needed to know the product weight of the Nintendo Switch console box so I figured I’d go on Amazon. Every friggin’ listing for the Switch is up to $530+ right now. How the hell are people getting away with this?

That’s a really good point. The people of Midgar don’t really seem to be “of” Midgar, like, they don’t stand out like you say. They seem almost ubiquitous, like you could plant those NPCs in any modern place or time almost. Nothing “screams” Midgar about them so they come off as a bit plain. The original FFVII very

That’s an extremely good and very keen point. It’s kind of hilarious now that I think about it, in a “that’s so messed up” kind of way.

Unlike the Lindsey Lohan vs GTA V likeness battle, this one actually is incredibly blatant and exact. That’s insane.

I’m on chapter 5 (or 6? not sure, about to hit the 2nd reactor) right now and so far, really my only real complaint (and a testament to how good everything else is otherwise) is some of the lesser NPCs look very blah visually in the faces. Obviously your main stars are very detailed, but certain random one-time quest

Conservatives seem to have an extreme complex of “If I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen, and if I did see it happen, it’s someone else’s (the libs) fault.”

Hahaha. I definitely thought it was a little too on the nose when Wedge and Jessie come in and tell Cloud they have a quest from an NPC named “Mr. White.”

Wow, that’s clever. I can definitely say I’m learning a lot lately, haha.

omg I didn’t even realize that connection, with “another” Jessie. That’s amazing! They should get Aaron Paul to voice someone in Part II. That would be great.

Holy shit. That’s amazing. Seems like such a random casting but it’s wondeful.

Based on what few lines he had in the demo portion, I feel somewhat strongly that Wedge is “Badger” from Breaking Bad but I don’t want to look it up for fear that I’m wrong. It just seems like his voice which is very unique.
