So much for the legitimacy of that “transracial identity” issue that so many TOTALLY NOT TRANSPHOBIC people were bringing up.

I think she has a factitious disorder with psychological symptoms. Lying — especially pseudologia fantastica — is common with factitious disorders.
“Do you want a cookie” is maybe the lamest stupidest jezebel meme out there. Dude isn’t asking for cookies. If you can’t understand why he feels a need to state “I’m not a racist” on this site of all places, then you have serious problem with reading comprehension and communication in general.
And white men dump on white women just as much as they dump on minorities.
When you’re more concerned with semantics than social justice, you are indeed part of the problem.
Granddad is not referring to all white people though. There’s this idea, especially in white feminist circles, that white men are the absolute worst. The fact is that their female counterparts can be just as bad, and Rachel is not one of them. When you’re more concerned with semantics than social justice, you are…
I understand what you’re saying but I think it’s a little arrogant to imply it was any less painful for me to hear those things simply because it wasn’t directed at me.
I’m actually 100% white and I can’t fucking stand the “I’ve been privy to their racist comments against minorities because clearly ALL white people are in this together” thing either.* Some white people just assume that races are “teams” and we’re all obviously out to get each other.

To be fair, I think if a person speaks from a place of privilege, it is more vital that they speak egalitarian messages. If privilege necessarily provides power, then using that power to remove the asymmetry of privilege (that is, to provide your power to the oppressed) cannot really be a bad thing, can it?
Maybe the 1850’s were really onto something! Boy howdy, did the blacks know their place back then!

i agree with this and i think it’s unfair in a lot of cases—like, i don’t think an employment history that includes a year of stripping (or a pinterest board that talks about loving booze, or something) has any bearing on a teacher’s ability to teach. but this strikes me as something that would very obviously prevent…

50 Shades was a gateway to her getting into some really kinky shit...
This had got to be overturned. It doesn't make any legal sense, let alone moral sense.
