Does this say “crapping?”
In the context of the initial post I was replying to, the implication was that the electric traction motor and batteries would be removed and replaced with an internal combustion engine. BMW won’t do it, because it defeats the purpose of the vehicle, but it would be a cool little hot hatch.
Put various versions of the B38 (the inline 3 used in the Mini One, the 116i, all the way up to the combustion engine in the i8) in the back, and it would be a very cool little car. Everything from 55kW to 170kW depending on the engine chosen. That, and fix the beltline.
I would seriously buy an i3 if it had at least 200 miles of electric range OR a range-extender with more than two gallons and that could be used regularly.
ONLY ONE CUPHOLDER! WHAT IS THIS, EUROPE??
Yeah and I bet you had to walk 10 miles in the snow up hill both ways to get your ecu roms burned. And you liked it!

Enjoyed the Grand Cherokee slowly limping off the road like a shell-shocked soldier wandering around Omaha Beach holding his own arm.

I got to meet Mr. Balboni back in October 2010 at the end of the Fireball Rally in Galena, IL. Naturally, he was driving a manual Balboni Edition Gallardo in the rally.
All performance cars before 2000 are actively trying to kill you. That’s part of their charm.
“There is always a challenge between the car, and the power of the car, and the driver.” Translation: The Countach wants to kill you.
Volt battery will last 300k miles too. Already been done. GM was very conservative and only allows daily use of about 60% of the battery, plus liquid cooled it (unlike the Leaf which has had temperature based degradation and warranty replacements). Roughly the lower and upper 20% are blocked out from use to ensure…
Been done...with equal reaction.
