It’s not really out of *nowhere*. They gave builds for influencers and such to try out and show off like a week or two ago. Maximilian Dood played a version that needed polish done to it still on his Twitch channel some nights back.

Breaking traditions (well, some, but not all) is often a good thing, in my eyes. Look, I understand that if someone likes a game and how it plays and they make a sequel, they would want the sequel to be like the game they played. The only problem is that that’s how you end up with Pokemon or decades(ish) of Zelda

Gym Leaders should absolutely be “rock stars” in their region with how prominent they are to the people. (Elite Four and the Champion too.) With the sports and athletics (and stadiums) focus in Sword and Shield, maybe that will finally happen - I want to see kids flocking to get pictures and autographs with their

I imagine that the lack of (meaningful) connections and nods is the same reason why you have animated TV series (or comics, etc.) of successful animated movies that are set after the events of the movie but are then summarily ignored or contradicted when the movie’s sequel hits - they don’t want to alienate anyone

I do like the new Wild Area mechanic, so I’ll throw this bone out for how you could have a mechanic like that, but change up the outline and not just do the same thing over and over.

“For Pokémon producer Junichi Masuda and Pokémon Sword and Shield director Shigeru Ohmori, the spirit of Pokémon is all about metamorphosis.”

The punchline of every prank should be someone punching someone out.

As someone that has tons of passion projects involving lots of text documents and the like, it is *baffling* to me that they would just lose or not bother to save documents. I’m not even a professional and I get anxious whenever I have to upgrade computers just to make sure I copied everything over!

I love that everything’s kinda come full circle now. And, this does kinda feel like a backdoor pilot to greenlight a Darkwing Duck spin-off for the new universe, which, given how well Ducktales has been received in Disney’s eyes (with its fast renewals), might be a great thing to pair it with. Disney’s losing at least

Personally, I do feel that it is censorship to a degree, as it’s altering content beyond the vision of the creators and/or changing or removing content that is available in other releases. That said, it’s a video game, not an entire nation of people having aspects of their lives censored by a dictatorial government,

As we have seen over the years, retailers tend to have problems when digital versions are priced differently (i.e. cheaper) than physical copies and/or the publishers just consider that additional money in their pockets.

The difference in Switch vs PS4 price is likely due to the cost of Blu-ray disc vs game card as other, non-”censored” games on both platforms have had similar cost discrepancies.

If you cheat once, you should be gone. Permanently. In pretty much any competitive event. Doesn’t matter how small the cheat was.

And meanwhile, the actual people making the games get let go in downsizing or restructuring or simply don’t see a dime of those bonuses.

I once played X-2 for like 3 hours straight while my friend and his family went to church on a Sunday and then had to stop at Ikea, leaving me alone at their house for that duration. I sat in Leblanc’s Chateau running back and forth near the save sphere, grinding out AP in battle after battle for the Alchemist dressphe

ESP would like a word.

I think the biggest thing I’m hoping for with this is a balance somewhere in between classic Sakura Wars and Valkyria Chronicles, on multiple levels.

And, to add to my other comment, the entire series’ plot is basically about maidens using positive spiritual energy (“pneuma”) (harnessed via steampunk technology) to defend against and wipe out said demons.

They’re “Kouma”, which are basically demons. I’m pretty sure flying ones have shown up before. (I want to say that, at the very least, there were ones in the movie, though I don’t remember if they were normal demons or separate...)
