The best way to watch SNL is the YouTube clips. Skip the monologue circle jerk, the ponderous political cold open, and the music acts. You can burn through an entire episode in about 15 minutes. 

Holy crap. That is some serious intricacy.

Sobering that even a generational comic like Chappelle thinks you can do lazy shit jokes like “women be stupid” with no flair or punchline and then think that if the audience isn’t laughing, they’re oversensitive babies who are too politically correct.

Chappelle does not handle bombing a joke well. When he’s on he’s on, but when he’s off he increasingly handles it like every other canonized insulated comic and digs his heels in a bit more.

Yeah that joke bombed and he kinda dug himself a little deeper rather than just moving on. The smaller audience also didn't help. They seemed very confused about when to laugh at things.

Chappelle’s monologue was... seriously mixed for me.

There’s real humor in the notion that the Trump campaign used the Death Star as a metaphor for their efforts, apparently forgetting that every single version of the Death Star or similar planetary superweapons were all destroyed at the end of their respective movies.
