The only time I’ve waved at a Hummer is after dark, and I felt the need to wash my hand after.
THEY BLOW A VAPE CLOUD AT YOU!
Us Wrangler owners know our place among you peasants.
That’s Boston you’re thinking of.
It doesn’t count if they’re waving just one finger.
It has always been my understanding that the jeep wave is only for jeeps with an open top ability. I’ve owned several wranglers including 2 JK’s and 2 TJ’s. I can’t say that I have ever received a wave from a hard top jeep, nor have I ever given one. If I were waved at from an XJ I would wave back, heck I’d even wave…
So, there are MULTIPLE examples of companies listening to enthusiasts, delivering exactly the model or the trim of car/ruck that the Jalopnik comment sections would gush over. And every time that they do, the automakers end up getting burned. It’s the vocal minority that wants a brown, manual, 2wd truck with roll up…
I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out the best vehicle for me to:
Doesn’t count as technology?
Then there are several other options of truck models and trims from which you can choose. And if you must have this one, then you could buy it and make a bunch of money back de-contenting it by trading those parts with some kid that is $30,000 underwater on his wannabe bro truck.
That is elitist nonsense. I see the same thing with holier than thou people like you during many of the LSx engine swaps into other vehicles. It is technology when it’s producing class leading power, especially for its size and weight.
People like to bitch about vehicles made for off-road (and truck) enthusiast, because most of the buyers will never use them for their full potential. Yet they are never bothered when they see an AMG, Lamborghini, or WRX parked at the mall.
My impression is that the technology frontier in things like this is underneath — driveline modes, and suspension adaptability to various conditions.
Every comment here is the same “hurr durr Mallhawk” but I just want to say I’m actually okay with that because FCA means I’ll be able to pick up a lightly used one for a neat desert toy for cheap in a few years.
And how many new trucks have you bought in the last 10 years? Because if you aren’t buying, you aren’t a customer. And if you aren’t a customer, then no one is listening to you.
The trucks look much better this way. And I’ve talked to friends that work at dealerships. If they have a ho-hum truck that doesn’t sell for a few months, then they add parts like this, since it’s what so many buyers do to their trucks anyway. Suddenly, a stale truck with dealer add-ons sells within 3 days. Dodge…
88 Horsepower Ford Escort.... I drove everywhere at 80+ mph (Churches, schools, Taco Bell parking lots, everywhere).
650hp ZL1.... 33 mph in a 35mph zone.
I’m fucking weird.
Jalopnik Reader - *Snorts* well since its not a used bright orange manual diesel wagon I already dislike it. no one else is allowed to like cars if it is not the exact spec *I* Like...
Youre wrong. Looks great and aggressive.
