That's a horrid thought. I have a sudden and terrible vision of coked out Hollywood execs reading these posts on io9, then whipping out their phones and saying, "Hey, I've got a great idea for our next remake." Luckily, I think the rights for Terminator revert to Cameron in a few years, so it's a waiting game. may the

"NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Paul McGann was fantastic, the look of the TARDIS was beautiful, but the story was a bit naff, and I felt they took a few too many liberties with the source material. I really want to see McGann back in Who in some capacity, even in a flashback to the Time War; he deserves more screen time than his one appearance.

I can, only too well <shudders> I mean, there was nothing wrong with the way Prometheus looked, but the story? Oh dear lord. I guess my fear of a Blade runner sequel also has to do with story: where can they go? What's the point? I also worry about the dissonance that may be created due to the timeline. Bladerunner is

This is probably really obvious, but I sincerely hope no one is ever dumb enough to touch it. I don't think the planed sequel is a good idea either.

If I ever see one of those I'm turning heel and booking at as fast as I can.

That last screenshot looks a hell of a lot like Orlando Bloom. Is he playing two parts here, or is it someone else with an uncanny resemblance?

I love the character posters for the World's End; combining pub names with character traits is rather clever : )

I'm quite looking forward to the new film, and Hardy's take on the role.

There was an original trilogy of films in the late 70's/early 80's. The first one was a society dealing with post peak oil, and the second two were set in the aftermath of world war 3. They are basically the genesis of the post apocalyptic action thriller. I for one am really excited, but of course it depends on how

They'd be mad not to make that a central concept to game play.

Oh yeah, I actually got shivers when I heard the car revving in from the distance.

Based on his look and the car I'm wondering if this is set just prior to The Road Warrior?

Nice observation, I reckon you're spot on.

I haven't yet come to terms with his death, and doubt I will for some time. As much as I hate to say it, part of this is largely selfish; I want more Culture story's, and know I can't have them. Then there's the rage at the dumb blind unfairness of it all. Why him? Within four years I've lost a brother and two

I refuse, given I'm Falling Outside the Normal Moral Constraints. You'll want your Grey Area examined if you think otherwise.

I'm really glad to hear HBO's backing a science fiction show after their success with realist and fantasy shows. It remains to be seen if this will be any good, but I have a lot of good will for this network. Not for the first time I wish they had ended up with World War Z, but I digress.

It could do! Jack Gleason said he's giving up acting after this, though he'd be wise to take one more role playing a total sweetheart puppy hugging nice guy, if only to take some of the stench of Joffrey away somewhat. I mean fuck, even his name, Joffrey, is annoying and makes one want to smack him.

Yeah I get what it was supposed to be. It's just I'd kinda clued into the fact that this guys a sadist way back when he pretended to be an ally of Theon's, helping him to escape and pretending to lead him to his sister, only to bring him back to the torture chamber. I just felt that this season long protracted torture

Tywin is interesting, as he straddles a weird line. He commits (or has others commit) atrocious acts, yet there's something about him I can't help but respect. Perhaps it's his willingness to put anyone in their place. It's true I'm sick of seeing his continual lack of respect for Tyrion, especially considering Tyrion
