Stand on Zanzibar by John Brunner. While there are aspects that have aged poorly, it's also impressive how many things he predicted, from people running 'amok' to Detroit rave culture. The books main political figure is even called President Obomi. The novel was a huge influence on writer's such as David Brin and

I'm going with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Sure it had it's ups and downs, but I was intrigued to see where it was going, and I cared deeply about all the characters.

Good point about repeat viewings. A friend asked me if I wanted to see it yesterday, and I flat out refused, having already seen it. And I didn't mind the film that much, I just felt no desire to see it again. Unlike, say, any of Nolan's Batman films.

I have all the Doctor Who seasons up to six, so I'm really hoping they'll eventual release seven as a complete set at some point. I'm pretty sure this splitting of seasons thing started with BSG, and it's rather annoying, especially with a show that only does fourteen episodes a year.

No bother! Happens to the best of us.

It was called the Tet, short for tetrahedron ; )

I got a flashback to 70's Dr Who, in a good way :)

Sadly I think Disney is all too aware of how EA operate, and I do hope I'm wrong, but it seems with going for a movie every year and now giving exclusive dev rights to EA they are well and truly in this to get as much profit as possible. While it's entirely possibly EA will turn out some good looking and even fun

I'd love to see Jane back; I thought he did good work with the material at hand, and Dirty Laundry proves you don't need a huge budget, just a good idea and people with a passion for the subject matter.

It's interesting you mention our unique position of having full lunar and solar eclipses as a tourist attraction for alien visitors; this was a plot point in Transition by Iain M. Banks.

And let's not forget that awful tacked on happy ending, oh boy. On second thought, yes, let's forget that ever happened.

I find king adaptations to be very hit or miss, depending.

I'm not sure, but it may be the creative differences with Scott and Ford you are thinking of, though the two did agree in certain other things, such as a voice over being detrimental to the film.

It's probably rather unlikely that Max Brooks will have this experience.

I actually think it was Mark Gatiss making clever reference to 'The Mill,' the effects department responsible for the effects on Dr Who, which is closing down.

I thought the leech was actually kind of cute :)

I'd be very surprised if multiplayer heist missions aren't a big feature.
