I'll agree with you that in normal circumstances, a well tuned carb will drive almost identical to a good SEFI setup. (Sometimes, a properly tuned carbed engine will actually react quicker than a fuelie, especially the newer throttle by wire types).
To that end: Reliability of ECUs and PCMs.
