In his defense, his various enterprises are delivering amazing results, and amazing results are really hard.

Sometime ago, there was a guy speeding on a bike in arizona, who was "clocked" by a passing aircraft and given a ticket for a speed that his bike could not possible have achieved. You may have heard of it, it was going somewhat viral at the time. I remember that the bike was an RC51, I don't remember the alleged…
I have a friend who is a bit of a world traveler. As such, he is licensed to drive in several countries. When pulled over in the states, he presents his foreign license, and neglects to mention that he has a domestic one. Since he has a rather strong, but hard to identify accent, no one questions this.
Many years ago, I decided to race an off duty officer on a public road. I didn't know he was an off duty officer, but he was on the same road as me, traveling in the same direction, which was clearly an invitation to a race, as far as I was concern. Given that I was piloting a sport bike, and he a minivan, it is safe…
Agreed. I don't right away see any reason why you couldn't apply a two stroke diesel principals to a direct injected two stroke gas engine.
Whats tricky about a transverse gearbox? I always thought early manufacturers went with RWD because it took a while before we could build reliable CV joints.
Or down. Or sideways. Predictions are hard.
I bet they care about the level of smug the can emit, and the level lessens when people can fill up their old suv on the cheap.
Because natures way of handling it smells really bad.
A diesel two stroke doesn't work the same way that a conventional 2 stroke does. There is no reason why it should be particularly dirty.
It's worth pointing out that a two stroke diesel is a rather different concept than the more conventional, gasoline two stroke found in dirt bikes and chainsaws. It has a normally lubricated crankcase, which gets rid of many of the weaknesses of the 2 stroke gas engine.
Do you know if the FJ have a different transmission? I find mine to be entirely unremarkable. Nothing good or bad to say about it. Well the clutch has a strange engagement point, which took an hour or so to get used to (stalling it 4 times in a row at a dealer made me feel like a teenager all over again), but I…
There is no denying that newer automatics are getting much better, but they are still not as fun.
Look most people buy cars and trucks to transport them, their family, and their stuff from point A to point B. Not me. I buy them so I can drive them. Getting from one point to another is just a convenient side effect. Having a gizmo shift gears for me is about as appealing as hiring another man to pleasure my wife.…
Last time I went vehicle shopping, I really wanted a truck. I liked the silverado best out of everything I tried, but the lack of a manual transmission was a deal breaker. Hated the frontier, while the wife hated the tacoma. So no trucks for us. Ended up with an FJ, which I managed to find in a manual. The harshest…
On second thought, this should be a challenge to the manufacturers. Lets see a car that can do 220 over bumps and potholes. I'm getting tired of fantastic machines that can't negotiate most driveways.
But you can't get a manual transmission.
That is not a lot of miles. Most people put more than twice that on their DD.
If I'm supposed to think of my autonomous car as a robot, why not my dishwasher? Washing machine? Hell, even air conditioners are automated, keeping the air the exact temperature the "Boss" wants. What a good buddy!
They can move, but they will have to stop somewhere. Even villains need to sleep. This monster does not. I'm imagining the chase will leave cartoonish looking trench criss crossing the planet that can be seen from space. At which point, you'll need to wonder who the actual villain is.
