but it’s also gorgeous and an absolute delight to drive”

Point of clarity.  The “unreliable” Giulia was the Quadrifoglio from its early run.  I’ve been shopping for used non Quad Giulias and fair bit of research says they are no worse than Audi or BMW.  Either case if they do it they way they did with the Tonale where the Dodge is mainly a rebadged Alfa, then I’ll be ok

Oh yeah, Brownell. I didn’t bother with spell check, figured my comment would fit in with rest of the site better. Plus, my editor was on lunch, or something.

Looks like Jalopnik got the gas and EV times flipped in that chart. 3.3 is for the EV.

My brother in Christ, they made it bigger?!

Everyone who buys a gun for self-defense (and every police officer) should be asked this question under oath... “When you wake up in the morning do you hope today is the day you get to use your gun, or do you fear today is the day you have to use your gun.” Only people (and potential officers) who hope to never have

I like that the judge said he’s getting the maximum sentence because he needed to make sure the shooter couldn’t hurt anybody else. Monahan clearly isn’t of stable mind, and given time, he would certainly grow more unstable.

Fuck this clown. Aside from his lack of remorse, he also claimed he accidentally discharged the weapon a 2nd time (the shot that killed the girl) because he tripped on some nails on his deck.

Or, I just don’t like unnecessary unkindness and sweeping generalizations.

“Well, yes, but then we couldn’t get an edgy, idiotic headline for the clicks.”

So, actually you do need to use airplane mode

Not sure where you are located, but if you’re in a country you could buy a Fiero new you probably can’t buy an S660.

do i need to explicitly state that i have compassion for the guy who was at the receiving end of this guy’s mental health episode? Here - I hope the guy gets millions in a settlement.  I’m glad he’s not dead, that would have been a tragedy.

It’s possible to have compassion for everybody in this situation, IMHO. It’s a flipping miracle the man in the back of the squad car is still alive (and possibly a testimony to the lousy marksmanship of the two officers). With someone like this officer on the force, we’re all one case of mistaken identity away from

Somehow these people can watch a video of a guy having a mental episode in the middle of doing his job and immediately adopt the “fuck the police” shtick. yes, this guy did an absolutely terrible thing which could have killed someone - while having a medical episode and not being in control of his actions. It’s like

Believe it or not, it actually is possible to have sympathy with mass shooters too. And with that crazy lady who tried to shoot up that megachurch the other day, and in the process of being taken out, got her son critically hurt too. It’s a damn shame; these people needed help and didn’t get it. Instead, they found

Theoretically somebody else could’ve had it, since the car was recovered 3 miles away and they were skeptical he had just walked that far, so there may have been an accomplice.

Kudos to you for trying to find sympathy for this former officer, but I think you’ll see most cannot.  And for good reason.  An officer (former deputy) almost ended the life of a suspect, acting like judge and jury, which seems like most police want to be.  Not a good look.

Around 9:45 in the original video, from the perspective of a different officer on the other side and down the street, you can also hear a noise, and it seemed much too loud especially at that distance to be the acorn, since even the officer screaming sounds too far away.

As ridiculous as this story is, it would be very nice if you had... oh, I don’t know... reported the condition of the person who was inside the car being fired upon. Is Marquis Jackson still alive? Did these hapless cops needlessly murder someone because they heard an acorn? One might never know, when the media makes
