The base car won’t be sub-3; they said that’s only with the Z51 package (which has shorter gearing and an electronic LSD).

I can’t help but think that their comment of “Under $60k” is a bit on-the-nose, since you KNOW it’s probably going to be $59,999 (before destination charges, of course). But still, damn; I was predicting $70k like everyone else.
Hell, it’s cheaper than even I expected. I was assuming a couple thousand premium, but this is basically just C7 pricing, adjusted for inflation. Kinda incredible.
I mean, front-end lift is a pretty damn nice feature to have. Even being careful, I still occasionally scrape the front splitter on my GT350, and have to completely avoid some parking lots/garages. I imagine Corvettes have historically had similar issues.
Why does it have to be “well north of regular Corvette pricing”?
You probably should have read the post. This car is not getting the blackwing... at least, not yet.
I’m still disappointed that the Barracuda revival rumors from years and years ago never panned out. A genuine Mustang/Camaro competitor would have me interested.
Wow, I’m so used to hearing Camaros with shitty exhausts that I had no idea that a SBC could make that kind of noise; it sounds fantastic.
Ah, I don’t watch the Simpsons, so I didn’t realize it was a direct quote from an episode. My bad.
Chinese food?
Point #1 brings to mind an interesting question.
Your experience with non-automotive plants does not apply, unfortunately. To use your own words: “Try again.”
Pretty much. I’ve worked in both UAW and non-UAW plants, and honestly, the workers in the non-UAW plants were happier. I can’t speak to ALL the plants in right-to-work states, but at least for the ones I HAVE been in, there was no need for the UAW.
Have you ever actually worked in a UAW and non-UAW plant? I have not been in VW’s plant specifically, but I have worked in others in multiple different states, and guess what? The workers in the non-UAW plants were happier, had more open communication with management, and maintained higher FTQ (first-time quality)…
You do realize that the only reason that these UAW votes have been happening is because of the VW management, right? They wanted to establish a worker’s council, like the they have in other countries, but the NLRB determined that the workers needed to be unionized for that. If anything, the failure of this vote is NOT…
It would be interesting if a new auto workers’ union came into existence specifically due to all the anti-UAW sentiment floating around nowadays. While I know that there are plenty of people out there against ALL unionization, I get the impression that more people are against the UAW specifically, rather than…
The space program, for one. Granted, that’s only one city in the whole state, but Huntsville is pretty important to the US aerospace industry.
Damn, this is kinda disappointing. I was far more interested in the prospect of a merger/alliance with Peugeot, since they actually make semi-interesting cars (unlike most of Renault’s lineup).
Well, that’s embarrassing.
I think this might be even worse than your pizza take...
