You seem to have forgotten/missed that Tesla has yet to turn a profit in a single fiscal year without significant government subsidies (and for years were losing money even with them). Without selling the “Zero Emission Vehicle” credits given to them by the California state government, they would be bleeding money and

Since this is in Japan, isn’t it technically a Jimny?

Why was this shared to Jalopnik?

I do agree that the beltline of the car does seem to be rather high, leading to fairly small windows; a quick visual estimate puts them around 14-16” tall, depending on the actual size of the reference wheels. Hopefully the car doesn’t suffer from Camaro-like visibility.

I’m sorry, but... what? I think the camo must be confusing your eyes, because as far as I can tell, this thing is not all that tall. For reference, please see the quick photoshop I did below.

The photos that Jalopnik decided to purchase don’t give a good view of the tires. There are a lot more pictures on Autoblog, some of which provide a good view of the passenger rear tire. As far as I can tell, this car is wearing what looks to be 285 (maybe 265) tread width tires; I’m not sure if they are Sport Cup 2s

I must disagree:

I agree with your observations, but there are additional photos out there that provide a decent view of the tires from the rear. This car is wearing what looks to be 285 (maybe 265) tread width Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which I can’t imagine they would put on a sub-350 HP car.

It is absolutely not an 86 replacement. Autoblog has a lot more pictures (Jalopnik probably didn’t want to pay for all of them, when there’s not a lot to see), including some rear shots that give a good view of the tires. This car is wearing what looks to be 285 (maybe 265) tread width Michelin Pilot Super Sports,

Keep politics off of Kotaku, please.

While I generally like Autodromo’s design aesthetic, their pricing is way off base. The Miyota 9015 movement used in this watch is typically used in watches costing $300 or less; even factoring in Autodromo’s status as a low-volume, niche supplier, I see absolutely no reason why this watch deserves its $1100 pricetag.

So, where’s the hat tip to the Oppo poster that you took this from, Justin? He preceded you by 8 hours.

Whoever keeps sharing these posts to Jalopnik, please stop.

Kat Ayukawa, eh?

I doubt that most kei cars could pass our crash tests, to be honest. They would also most likely be incapable of reasonable highway speeds, as many Japanese expressways tend to have speed limits of 50 MPH and under.

The only Camrys with CVTs are hybrids; the rest of them are 6-speed autos.

And why is he a piece of shit? Because he called out the rider as an idiot performing illegal actions?

While the Focus RS is capable of sending up to 70% of the power to the rear wheels, under normal operation, it does not. The AWD system is still based around a PTU (power takeoff unit) that “siphons” power from the transmission to send to the rear differential. The system will only direct power to the rear when the

This makes me feel physically ill. Visiting the memorial as a child (when my father was stationed at Schofield Barracks) is a memory that will stay with me for my entire life.
