Just out of curiosity (and only slightly off topic), since the Xbox One will offer day one digital downloads for every physical disc game release... Does that mean you will get the same pre-order bonuses and/or expansion packs that are associated with it? i.e. I have BF$ pre-ordered, but since this whole 180 on

I thought the same thing. First thought—
"really, bro?"

We can all see how well that worked out. I was really looking forward to not swapping discs on my favorite games. Now I'm considering my options and wondering if I should cancel my BF4 pre-order and hold out for the digital version.

1st world problems.

Now I am considering that I should cancel my BF4 pre-order and just buy the day one digital download so that I can have it disc free. I was really looking forward to not swapping out discs for my most played games. Boo.

Just to clarify, the reason it would still check is because the disc would never need to be in the tray. The trade off was the 24 hour check in that kept people from all copying the game off of one disc. It made sense. As to why they couldnt have made an offline exception where the system verifies ownership with the

Grumpy Cat.

While this was admittedly a very funny read, and most definitely just an opinion...

I effing loved this movie.

That is all.

No.

Okay, I can see the sarcasm in that line. But that doesn't change the resistance people have. All the comments that say it should be offered without one tell me that it exists beyond sarcasm.

I'm not saying that every one of their restrictions were well thought out. However, it was definately on a more inspired path of the gaming future. The only reason they were having games check in is because of gamers no longer needing the disc to play. They were trying to move towards an evolved version of Steam while

Is it?

The reason they don't use it is because it was never fully adopted by developers outside of "fitness" or "dance" based games. The reason developers don't adopt it is because it is not a standard part of the equipment that all console owners own. Why would DICE or a Tom Clancy game add hand gesture orders or integrated

When I really think about it, counting all the pros and cons, it was sort of a step back for them when they caved. If they add it back in the future, it will be an evolution of gaming and likely a similar track to what Sony wants for the future as well. All the bitching has essentially stopped this generation from

I don't get it. "A Kinect free version". Why? Fragmenting the market will only cripple its future integration in gaming. STOP BITCHING ABOUT THE FUTURE.

I agree, but where were these voices when the internets were being trolled by the PS4 fanboys?

Is it strange that now I am considering a cancellation of my Battlefield 4 disc so that I can have a digitally available copy that won't require a disc in the drive? They just made it very compelling to me to download games I wouldn't trade in.

Removing the Kinect as a standard feature undoes the benefit of having it as a confirmed device for developers. Why would a developer use it as a feature if they don't have a confirmed user base. That's why you only see Kinect specific games this generation. I like the idea of playing Ghost Recon and using real world

Here is the update:

Some of this is good, some of this is bad. I hope they still allow you to fully install games and not require the disc. I don't see how they can remove sharing/trading disc restrictions and still allow games to run without them.
