What a weird stupid flex to make this the hill you want to die on. Weeb.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT GAME DEVELOPERS WRESTLE WITH EVERY DAY. This is why I think it’s hilarious that Ian is complaining about the Apple Arcade model when tomorrow he or another writer will complain MTX or expensive up front prices. Literally what I’m pointing out with their website.
On F2P games:
I do think it’s hilarious when people paid to comment on a topic (bloggers, influencers, etc.) then complain when they make a living off of the same lame profit schemes.
He’s a whiny baby who stamps his feet with righteous indignance.
And I want to read Kotaku without the increasing slam of ads, but we all can’t have our way!
Also, let me ask you: how much should a game cost? Many of the consumers I know want a game with AAA graphics, perfectly curated to their tastes, and all for $20, with free server access. If the consumer had their way, game companies wouldn’t be profitable.
Ok, what games were MSRP’ing at retail for $39.99? And were those games that were changing the industry and costing loads of money?
K.
You’re a sniffly stamp-stamp baby huh
Good on them. It sounds like they got everything they need from the game (which was in their own words funded by Ouya and more of an self-education product - like selling off the first pieces of thrown pottery you learn how to make)
Your link goes directly to Loom and while slightly helpful, is either a smug way to try to get people to play a game YOU like or is like when a blogger uses a timestamped link for YouTube accidentally.
I was once a product previewer, and once I went to an event with a hip hop/rap version of a karaoke game. It was SUUUUUUPER awkward when the white dudes would play that game. No one knew what to say.
In the bear and daddy scene, Kum & Go is a shirt brand for hairy white guys with little personality aiming to get dick from a guy 15 years older or younger than themselves.
my favorite is when a reporter posts a video and it starts halfway through, meaning they accidentally set it to play at that timestamp and you can see exactly when they stopped watching.
So protesting shitty/lame/ignorable business practices is AOK for you, but protesting human rights violations is not?
There are people whose “other views” entail making queer people second hand citizens and making black people segregated. You can take those delicate “other views” nonsense and stick them up your butthole.
Wow. People really do farm for fun. These games are really not for me.
All this is fair. Gamer snobs are the worst.
