Sit on it like scrooge mcduck , invest in low risk low return investments e.g. a saving account or invest it but don’t cash in the gains until later once CGT is lower again (e.g. property or gold)

I pay taxes twice, once when I had to earn that money and now twice when I earn income on that money working for me

What part of capital GAINS is not clear?

Every time money changes hands it is taxed. You get taxes taken out of your paycheck, then when you buy a new car you pay taxes again. It doesn’t mean you were taxed twice, it means money changed hands.

I don’t agree with the “income from sitting on your ass” of capital gains. It’s income from risking your savings to help others generate work and jobs.

Just so you know, that’s a massively stupid argument.

Speaking from experience, Delta and American’s ridiculous number of boarding zones, which are all based on things like first class or frequent flier status, completely override any semblance of back-to-front boarding. They are horrendous to board and they start their boarding 45 minutes before departure to account for

United must give out credit cards like candy - boarding group 2 is ludicrously long (it also includes Gold/Silver members). So the whole Window, Middle, Aisle thing never actually works like this in practice because the plane is already 33% full by the time the window seats (group 3) get on. People have to get up and

Weird. I’ve seen them make people get back in perfect numerical order even.

You have to respect it.

Since I really don’t give a shit about the Airline’s budget, this is my ideal boarding procedure:

Yeah, I’ve seen this, they usually “plead ignorance”. In a just world, people who tried this would be forced to board dead last, and if you try it more than once, you’re ALWAYS boarding last.

Air Canada is similar and frustrating as hell. What was wrong with row #? Or, more accurately, how is the zone system any better??

there have been a lot of studies that show that all boarding methods pretty much suck equally with a slight advantage going to fine grained back to front.
however, the introduction of “priority” boarders pretty much blows that all apart as they are concentrated at the front and just cause bad traffic jams.

Can the airlines and airports solve the problem of people getting in line when they’re not supposed to? They call for a certain boarding class but everyone gets in line to wait to be called instead of sitting down. So you wind up with people sticking out onto the concourse.

Some airlines have special seating for children.

The most efficient ones are the ones where people get out of the goddamn aisle to situate themselves. People, you can put your carry on in the overhead bin from the aisle seat! This is possible, I assure you! And then people can walk past you! No, you do not need to take off your coat while standing in the aisle!

My wife and I have been using Alaska for the last few years, and at least on the flights we’ve been on, it’s been our experience that they consistently board front-to-back. I reserve seats as far forward as possible, making boarding and deplaning very smooth. I do feel sorry for those in the rear, but you know, them’s

United Airlines, I don’t like you, but by God do I respect your boarding procedures.

I fly mostly Delta, with some Southwest. I don’t board with a suitcase or streamer trunk, just a small backpack. I’m also not a priority, early-boarding person any more (but that was really sweet during my business travelling years)
