Ugh, I was / am so pissed off at all the "doing it the right way" bullshit that came with Missy. Goddammit, she basically paid millions of dollars for the opportunity to beat the shit out of high schoolers in swim meets, and that's the "classy" choice?

Yep, if she can manage to make more than 200K right now, what does she need an NCAA scholarship for?

Here's a stupid example to show you what we're talking about. If last year, there was 1 white guy that committed a murder, and 10 black guys that committed a murder, then by your reasoning, it is still justified to be scared of the other 15 million black people. In reality, its more like there is a 99.9952% chance

agreed. Whenever I try to have a conversation with a doctor, lawyer or my wife (who makes tens of thousands more than me), I forget how to function like a normal human being.

did you miss the part of the video where ward dances up and down the track to make sure he was in front of Stewart's car?

I think that Stewart is in the wrong here, and probably deserves a manslaughter charge. That said, the actions of the 45 car are completely irrelevant. Ward was actively trying to get close to Stewart's car, not the 45.

(I'm pretty sure Manvs was referring to the NCAA video game that was the focus of the lawsuit)

pffft... that delivery guy chose FedEx just to make more money and have better benefits. Way to be a team player asshole!

Unless... Could we get Obama to take on a strong pro-NCAA stance. I really want to harness some Tea Party power here.

Q: But what about the swimmers, they work hard too!

That was my thought too... "so, in the end, after all the ups and downs, I'll just end up in the exact place I started from?" That's not exactly motivating me to go out and build my portfolio.

So what? I have yet to see a convincing argument as to why the efficient market of boosters directly paying players to attend a certain school is less desirable than indirect payment via cushy locker rooms and high priced football staff.

I think the biggest beef against Angelo's right now is the whole MASN fiasco, you know "everyone with cable in the DMV has to pay the Baltimore Orioles $1/month BY LAW!"

it's still 4 hours to play 1 when you're in the stadium, only instead of switching over to Redzone during commercials, you get to watch a guy with a red hatstand on the 20 yard line!

Kinda like the part where you missed the point.

Here's a picture I photoshopped up: scale is as accurate as I could figure.

Different circles I guess. Where I am (outside the Beltway that is), its usually bragging along the lines of "You think you got it bad... it takes me an hour and a half to go 15 miles to work and back!"

Ah, I'm in the DC area. No one brags about short commutes here (well, unless they bike or walk). No here it's "Sorry, can't stay five minutes late, I've got to make it before they seal up the Fairfax base camp, or I'll never make it to Centreville before the first snow!

Purdue was a bad choice. They are as likely to win the B1G next year as the Jags are to win the Super Bowl. Yes, the "Power" conferences do better than the SunBelt, but even within them, there are large differences. Realistically, only teams in the top 25 preseason poll even have a sliver of a chance to be national

rant appreciated. Sports "Science" is the worst. And it is extremely frustrating, because they pose interesting questions, then go ahead and do the equivalent of "hit another golf ball from the tee, so it'll land in the same place as the one you lost, so you'll find it." Honestly, the only show I found more
