The Jensen Interceptor is one of those cool Euro cars that I’d figure we never got on this side of the pond because our supply of cool Euro cars over here dropped steadily through the 80s and by the early 90s had stopped completely...and that’s about as far back as my automotive memory goes.

This is what is turning me off the new Tacoma. I really want one, but the lack of low end torque of the 3.5 V6 combined with the 6 speed auto (new for 2016...REALLY? It’s a decent truck, but always like ten years behind the industry) that is programmed to keep the rpms at the absolute lowest for fuel economy makes for

Well just yuck it up, chuckles. This guy would be in heaven at Mopar meetup’s, surely somebody can get him set with that?

Maybe a crowd fund? After reading that compelling story, no one I know would blink at funding a few Dollars.

Jesus Christ I was determined to wallow in my own misery today and you ... you just .. fucked it up. I hope you are happy.

You’re right. No one has ever spent a fortune “maintaining” their German car.

I am not a Tesla fan, but watched the whole video if I am not mistaken almost ALL of his complaints are about fit and finish, squeaks, that mirror and door handle, crooked wheel and front windshield issue. I know he says that Tesla is not a bad car but OMG he just comes across as super picky when he says the average

A 60D is not a $100K car.

“a dusty touch screen”

“In my mind, Tesla’s core competency is their technology. And that 17-inch touchscreen is the embodiment of Tesla’s technological prowess.“

My Grand Cherokee Diesel Overland had this buy beat with twice per month for 6 months. Not necessarily a Tesla exclusive thing to have car issues.

Twelve yards long, two lanes wide, 65 tons of American pride! Chevy Tahoe! *whip crack* Chevy Tahoe!

I’ve worked in this area. :-). The real advantage of TC in an EV is the predictable and smooth power output, combined with declining torque as RPM rises. It makes an effective TC calibration a relative breeze.

I worked with a guy back in 2000 who drove this to work everyday:

Yeah. Once upon a time, on an Earth not long ago, car manufacturers treated electric cars like jokes.

These things need to be banned until the long term health-effect of living near them can be properly studied and vetted. There’s strong evidence of negative side effects from the constant low frequency pulse of the turbine’s motion. They built one near a friend of mine’s uncles house. His wife suddenly got herpes out

In other industry news, FCA announced they plan on making no changes to their US product line until 2050.
