At Pikes Peak they put alarms on all the electric cars so people up the hill know they’re coming.

This is the first time I heard an electric motor sound like a car alarm. Maybe they’re trying to say they drove it like they stole it?

How is it a production car if they haven’t produced nor sold any?

Nah we don’t. But this is an American outlet after all.

I’ve never been so jealous of a road car trip out of anything I’ve ever read on Jalopnik. Publishing this at lunch was extra-evil, but at least I know what I want for lunch now.

This photo should be at the top of the article. It isn’t a crushed deck that’s the problem, there’s probably 20 foot diameter hole 10 feet below the waterline. It’s probably where the missing sailors are, behind the closed off bulkhead doors.

Git outta here with your real world experience and first hand knowledge and jump to conclusion like a normal internet commenter.

The actual transcript has just been leaked:

Wow. I always wonder how these things happen. Usually when I do find a report, one vessel lost steering and the other couldn’t move fast enough. looks like Fitz was t-boned while stationary or moving slowly, and with the shape of the bow on Crystal, she’s probably hurt bad below the waterline too...

“completely insane.” - What’s completely insane is poking a guy who was clearly not breathing. Are cops in Chicago not trained in CPR? When a person stops breathing, every single second counts. You don’t need a medical degree to do chest compression. Every single second counts. Longer you wait, less chances of a

That was what I noticed right off. It looks like her shrapnel shredded his “air brakes”.

Hardcore.

Yeah, that other driver was busy too. I am sure that no chute means you are hoping to stop sometime before the crash.

The Grable video (the first one) is extraordinary, why/how would you even want that much fire power from an artillery gun?

In 1987 Bill Elliot set a qualifying record of 212.229mph at Talladega. The car he was driving had somewhere around 665hp. The reason the cars haven’t gotten faster is the use of restrictor plates to limit their power and top speed.

Superspeedways run restrictor plates to keep the speed down. Presumably, this car would not have one.

I’ve been trying to do this with a Korean hatchback for over a year now. I found an airstrip but I didn’t quite have the $5000 necessary to rent it for the day. :/

And equally important you can expense it!

The only thing I really haven’t done with the Lancer is find its top speed. It’s been on track a lot! But I don’t know how fast it’ll go. Something something responsible adult something too afraid of getting arrested in West Texas now (something). This would be the appropriate venue to answer such a question.
