The biggest apparent criticism that can be leveled against the CoD series is its alleged failure to innovate, or at least that's the impression I've been given by those who don't care for it. I can't tell you personally as I haven't played a CoD title since the first Modern Warfare.

Nor should have time have been wasted, as it is dramatically appropriate in this instance.

"Never understood why so many people outright hate the man. He is doing something he loves, getting paid for it and has an insanely large fanbase."

Actually, none of my friends play LoL, and I haven't played competitive online shooters since Halo 2 due to the same social backwaters (Modern Warfare lost me halfway through the very first game; haven't played a CoD title since). The sure way to screw up anything is to add unaccountability to it.

One gaming instance that really stood out as a watershed moment for me this gen was Brutal Legend's pairing of Ophelia's transformation at the Sea of Black Tears with Ozzy Osbourne's 'Mr. Crowley.' It struck me more from the impression that the scene was carefully composed to match the song in question; it takes a

Truth be told, that's a pretty accurate depiction of the turn-of-the-century American west. Miles of nothing surrounding pockets of misery.

Very informative article, and a great primer. Now, if you could just suggest what can be done about about the terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad LoL community, I might give this one another go.

Curious how this compares to other open-world pirate games of the past such as Sea Dogs, or the original Pirates of the Caribbean (nee Sea Dogs II).

PS3. The biggest selection of players will still be on current-gen consoles; I see no need to rush headlong into a new console generation until late next year at the earliest.

He's still around. He voices Mike Wazowski in Monsters Inc/University.

I like it. It's exciting and builds a bit of a 'you need this' vibe...after 28 years in the gaming retail and design, the beginning of a new console cycle still makes me feel young again. That being said, in July bought a ridiculous Asus ROG laptop crammed with sorcery I cannot even begin to describe, so next-gen

Parents should be aware that the Xbox One isn't really designed as a 'child pleasing' console; they'd be better off with a Wii U.

In my view, our attempts to put a face on our Creator (I do believe we're a small part of a much greater cosmic infinity created by an intelligence far beyond comprehension) are an attempt to personalize our search for something greater than ourselves. I feel that each of us is a unique spark of life that has never

Border security is discretionary funding, not mandatory. Incidentally, that border defunding was introduced by the Republican-controlled House after the President proposed it in his 2011 budget. Only the Legislative branch can approve any spending, so you may as well put the blame where it belongs: on the House and

You cannot defund the ACA and our esteemed Republican caucus knows this (either that our they're all brick stupid), as 80% of the ACA's funding comes from mandatory spending. This is the same funding that keeps our elected officials paid while they do no actual work.

Nope. You get me an offline mode and we'll talk, but until then, no sale.

That's unsettling for more than a few people: for Ms.Page, and for whoever took that much time to figure out how to do it.

Maybe I'm just old, but I tried LoL and I just wasn't feeling it...maybe it appeals to a specific genotype. On top of that, the community appears to be the worst sort of fermented douchebaggery known to mankind.

Yeah, you're right though, I did get those two mixed up.
