Indeed; people are more than titled to their opinions, but it's clear there's a bit of eyeball-aversion to the real corporate monsters of the world.

Strangely enough, I didn't have the issue of wanting to sprint through Infinite, as Leigh did. I turned over every barrel and crate, poked my nose down every hidden corner, tried to find everything in every odd spot that I could. The sights, sounds, theology and idiosyncrasies of Columbia made me want to make every

There's a certain amount of disrespect that was exchanged on both sides, but the truth of the matter is that you can't do that when you're the public face of a massive corporation prepping for a new console cycle.

You know, I did...and LotR in particular struck me has haphazard, random playfield design with no obvious flow. I really wanted to like it, too.

Might be, although I don't mind paying for LIVE. In my experience it's been a far more stable and speedy connection when compared to PSN, and that's something I'm willing to pay for.

When people ask me what the defining game was for me this generation, it'll be Mass Effect. Bioshock is a very close second.

marshmallow covered in flaked coconut.

"From the leading makers of pinball in the world."

I think that's the biggest issue with modern gaming: it's okay to have bro-games like CoD or Halo, but not when it comes at the cost of more traditional core games. When people start watching their favorite genres get pushed aside to make room for more of the same, they tend to get rankled.

If true, it'll sink their next console. Count on it.

Looks that way to me as well; do not like the stray signals the tower is picking up right now.

I'll tell you right now that if my console has to be constantly connected the the net, I'm not buying that console. I play my consoles when the internet is down, which in some cases has been for days.

Yeah, I think we're on the same page with this.

That was bloody brilliant; masterfully crafted and executed. It made me happy, and that's about as glowing an endorsement as I can give.

Indeed; most of these jobs are sourced per-project. This is neither unusual nor unprecedented, but it does make working in the industry a bit feast-or-famine. As someone who has done contract work for major studios before, I'm happy to be working for a private developer who self-publishes; stability is more the norm

The reason music games died so quickly was annual installments; even pizza starts to taste bland when you eat it every day. We didn't have enough time to enjoy one game before the next was announced; you should always leave them wanting more, not bringing on seconds before the main course is gone.

Best Buy is confirmed as a retailer.

Actually, there's a very good chance they would have to build lower polygon models which means having to rework the textures and surface mapping; that's a tremendous amount of work at no small amount of cost.

It really is more about who you know rather than what you can do. I do art direction for a studio named TFPSoft, and I was pulled in because I did an online comic from 1995-2008; the owner is a friend of mine I've known for even longer.

It's really a shame. Given the server issues of the first week, I had plenty of time to think about whether I really wanted to buy the new SimCity, and the answer I came away with was 'no'; get me an offline mode and I'll reconsider.
