I used to work at a trade association, and the CEO was such a tight ass. He refused to adjust the receptionist’s salary: $27k in 2001. He was convinced the position was overpaid even though this was in DC and he required a college degree for the job.

At least until, without warning, they discontinue your favorite product, and break your heart... Thanks TJ’s...

Because of how a lot of East Asian (Chinese included) cultures still stick to a very monochromatic view of beauty standards, people with the right “look” are usually from middle or upper-middle classes. There’s also the fad of half-Asian, half-European/American celebs that wax and wane but never really goes away. That

Because there is a particular personality type that’s drawn to managerial positions, and they are always disasters at management. They don’t understand what management is about but think they can do a better jobs. They want complete control and immediate success and don’t see their employees as human beings. They’ve

It’s at a bank - business casual, emphasis on business (no capris or gouchos, no plain t-shirts unless it’s under a vest/sweater, etc).

We just got rid of someone at my work who looked impressive on paper and had her references check out (ha), but was completely and utterly useless. Ended up in a meeting with me telling her in front of other people that she may find value in googling some of the basics of her job that she’s supposedly been doing at

I’m waiting for Japan to hurry the fuck up inventing Super Domestic Fantasy Cyborg Roommate, who should be doing the laundry for me by now. Don’t we live in the future, or something? SMDH.

Ooh, listen to Mr. Fancy over here. I don’t have EITHER in my apartment, thank you very much, so take your First World problems and peddle them in Beverly Hills or some shit. Harrumph.

Similar situation from to Chicago (about two, three hours) from the boarding area, to the plane, through the flight, and in O’Hare...these bubbly sorority girls talked the entire....time....non stop. .I don’t care much for flying and I have a relatively short temper.... When we got into O’Hare I turned around and

It’s somehow MORE suspicious that he has this ancient ass calendar saved. Either this was a CYA move, or his parents need to be on that Hoarders show.

Better than that, when he said he has the goods, 9 times out of 10...he has the goods. It’s really just that simple. You can just about take every claim he makes to the bank.

Totes agree! I’m enchanted every time I see him. It really is like Batman coming to the rescue. But I really don’t want him to run for president.

Fuck it, I hope he's made campaign chair for the next Democratic presidential nominee.

100% with the stop caring about what others think so much. All the angst and depression and insecurity seems so ridiculous now.  Maybe you just have to live through a couple decades to realize that it doesn’t matter, but I wish I could have grasped it younger.

Have and stick to a budget. (You get that we’re trying to save you from our mistakes, right?)

The bank I used called it the “First Home Club,” or something similar. There were no income bands you have to be in that I recall either.

What is the name of the program? Are there income limit bands you have to be in to get it?

Talk to a mortgage guy NOW. A lot of banks have special deals for first time home buyers, where you save money (deposit it into a special account), and they match 25% of it, up to a $7,500 match. I believe this is a federal program that banks offer. The catch is, is that you have to make the deposits over a 1 year
