Lol, my girlfriend obsessively checks her phone and other stuff to see if something new has happened. Not limited to tech though; it includes phone, pocket, hat box (marching band)... Yeah. But that's a different problem entirely.

My school has a special code to indicate a lockdown. That way, as long as the crazy guy with a gun isn't a student, they won't be clued in on the fact that the students are all hiding in the classrooms.

Sorry Apple, but you're way too late on the spyware patent... way too much prior art out there. Anybody using IE can attest to this.

As a side note, don't photocopy your social security card as your backup. For one, this is epically insecure, and two, a lot of places want the original card with the seal and everything. Same with birth certificates: the State Department will only accept an original when you're getting a passport.
