There is an incredibly small percentage of people who are "in the know" about consumer electronics. The rest of the world just kind of goes with the flow. For 99% of people the iPhone is the perfect device. The idea of "open" is a terrible thing for the vast majority of people. It makes things alot more confusing

Hilarious, but totally indicative of the viewpoint of mobile devices by the majority consumer market. You set your standards on how well things are presented. Apple is the BMW/Mercedes of the smart phone/tablet world. Thus in popular culture things will always be "like that iPhone" or "i got that iPad thing".

My boss came up to me a few weeks ago and said... "I got my nephew one of those iPads, can you help me set it up for him. I purchased it from QVC"
