Tesla, with impending competitive pressure in the EV space from...well...nearly every other car maker, has arguably peaked. They had a near monopoly for a number of years, but that’s over now. This apogee is likely to be shorter-lived than it could be due to Musk’s recent asshole routine which is wearing thin with

Torch, you’re referring to something called Moore’s Law.

I was surprised to recently learn that Ken Block is nearing his mid 50s.  A good example on how to live life.  No reason to slow down if you don’t have to!

Hi Kristen!  I’m confused, I thought you left Jalopnik?  Are you back now?

The new(ish) Supra is a highly unattractive car.

Excellent, concise comment.

I’m not a finance guy, so if this is ham-fisted please forgive me.  Is a possible, or likely, scenario that some investor or ownership group swoops in and buys Hertz for pennies on the dollar, waits this thing out and then relaunches to great success when things begin to return to normal?

Ah yes, haptic touch.  You mean like I’ve been using on my Android for nearly 10 years?

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

No need to justify it, my friend!  You made a smart choice and you shouldn’t have to explain it!  Enjoy!

Noted!  Yeah, I have no ownership experience to go on, but I remember really liking the looks of the 405 and 505 when I was a kid.  I hope they return to US shores and showrooms.

In addition to my other comment here, let me state for the record: There is no shame in driving a crossover! It isn’t a damn minivan! Stop acting like it is some sort of automotive war crime! “Oh I deeply loathe crossovers...”. Why? Because they are highly useful vehicles that deliver luxury, performance and utility?

Can we please stop with throwing out some sort of disclaimer about these not being “purist” Porsches every time there’s a discussion of the Macan or Cayenne? Porsche has been making crossovers for nearly TWO DECADES! The money they make from the Macan and Cayenne pays for everything else Porsche does, much like a Divis

How do you think Eric Prince had so much success with the disgrace that was Blackwater?  There are hundreds if not thousands of these nutcases eager to get paid cash for high risk operations...and the possibility of hurting or killing people.

I’m old enough to remember when Renault and Peugeot both sold cars in the US.  I wish they would come back.  Both have some really cool models in their lineups.

The wait won’t be long at all. Taycan is the first of a major salvo of EV models coming from the VAG, with other manufacturers poised to follow.

I’ve always thought that if I someday were able to buy a new 911 I’d seek to factory delete the rear seats.

All I’ll say is, enjoy the hell out of it.  You are a lucky guy for the next few days.

It doesn’t.

Very true!
