@GetOutOfBox: ALL of the other browsers were patched just before the competition, as well, as was documented on LH.

Seriously? That's way too much work; and eating an artichoke is enough work (but rewarding!) in and of itself.

The huge problem with this is that most people who will use the new hashtag probably don't have the training or the expertise to correctly identify true errors. Spelling is one thing; grammar is quite another—and most people's ideas of what is correct are themselves either incorrect or misinformed.

@jeffk: According to the Chicago Manual of Style, in the context where it appears, "second-to-last" is preferred to the unhyphenated version. Either is acceptable, however.

@kingphilip: Don't assume that all English speakers or writers are Americans. "2nd-but-last" is perfectly fine in parts of the world outside the US. (Yes, I'm an American, but I am also fairly knowledgeable about English.)

When will people learn that the Internet is NOT private? Granted, opt in would have been preferable, but some people need to get over themselves.

@zuzzy: Thanks for that; I meant to include it in my response but forgot.

I've been doing this since at least 1995, and I'm pretty sure for several years before that. Why more insurance companies and driving instructors don't advocate this more strongly is beyond me.

Am I totally out of touch if I think paying more for an e-book than I would for the paperback version is a ripoff?

*sigh* What about us poor Mac users? I miss my permatabs!!

Here's a tip: Don't answer "Other" to the question about which OS you use.

How about a single, 64-bit version, with optional installs for "Professional/Ultimate" over Home Premium. Yes, I said it: DUMP 32-bit!

For heaven's sake, people: The article and request for comments are about FILTERS, not alternatives. THOSE are covered in other articles.

Two must-haves, in my judgment: A comment editor (Ajax Edit Comments) that allows both you and your readers to edit their comments, and CommentLuv.

@GldRush98: as a lightweight *CMS* client.

LH, please don't turn into Engadget. I'm retired, and even I don't have this kind of time to kill. Do you also put smaller tires on your car because you can?
