Ahh the Reatta; a Car that was so poorly built, they had to send the last few hundred convertibles to Florida for testing. They broke down the cars into three groupe: Acceptable for Customer Delivery, Acceptable for internal use at GM, and Not Acceptable.

Alright, early contenders for the IOE at Buttonwillows, and this is only my opinion. Let's see if I', right.

So, I guess we won't be seeing the 1965 Corvair Coupe this time? Come on guys, where is your spirit, where is your glory, where is your innermost masochistic tendencies? Don't make me come out there and whip you into shape....

@eggwich: ahhh, my friend, that was "Handling by Lotus" badging. The main difference? While the Italian great handling cars tend to have electical issues, the British great handling cars tended to explode oil (as weall as having electrical issues!)

@Subarufu: This particular Outback blew a head gasket last year, towards the end of the race. This year, the team seemed to be having all sorts of problems, but they were faster than last year when running.

Well, it's time for another one of my "Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot" Postings... and I did one on the Ghia L6.4, along with it's predecessor, the Dual Ghia.

@bzr: I know, you were speechless... By the way, do you have any pictures of us receiving awards.... no one seemed to have taken shots at the award ceremony....

@Syrax: You really didn't want any part of the Outback before this team raced it last year. They got it for absolutely nothing, because it was hanging around the back of a body shop for a couple of years, and the owner never reclaimed it. Did I mention that it was also used as a love shack? According to the team

@AlienProbe: You could have just come to the track, and hung around with us....

@ummagumma82:I'm not sure what the actual engine used in the cougar was, but I can tell you it's a V8, with a manual that every once in a while, one of the drivers missed a shift, with a particularly horrifying grinding sound.

It was a rather exhausting weekend, and right now, I'm sunburnt, and really really tired. But I wanted to fill you all in with a few details.

@SchumacherTaxiSerive: Wow, I have never been called a cheating bastard before. Am I suppose to be flattered?

@cyclopticgaze: These were vintage Appliance Wheels, with the same bolt pattern as the Z. I believe it was 4 X 5.5 inches. However, I have to order the right wheel studs and washers so that they would fit just so. I have 8 of these bad boys!

Oh please, that look so sanitary. Take a look at these images:

@AlienProbe: On cars, they just went away. On the other hand, on tucks, they are still going strong:

@Novaload Misses Murilee: Wait until this weekend. I have Images of a 1961 Impala Sport Coupe (in Red) with every option offered by Chevy at that time. A/C. Power Windows, Power Bench Seat, Power Brakes, Power Steering, and of course, the Turboglide Automatic. While the engine isn't the 409, it is bigger than the 289.

Wow Wes, you have generated a whole helping of Haterade. I guess you just can't please the whole commentariat all the time.
