@MichaelPalin: The graphics will be the same quality with 3D turned off. The system works by projecting two 400x240 images at different viewpoints, as you move the slider toward the off position, those viewpoints move together, leaving you with a single 400x240 image.

Lenticular displays only work at certain distances and angles, which means they're no good for multiplayer or movies.
