Agreed, my point is savvy internet users aren't the ones preordering, especially Kotakuites. Mainly those "dudes" who just play games on the weekend and buy whatever game their friends are playing or see on tv.

Unfortunately you're preaching to the coir. I'd say most preorders go to joe six pack who wanders into gamestop looking for the new call of duty or whatever game to play that weekend.

I would totally jump on something like this next gen but for now when consoles are fairly cheap this doesn't appeal to me and I can't imagine most gamers doing it. I guess it's good for somebody though and hopefully it sets a precedence.

$150 for a 360 console. $80 for 2 years of Live. $230 total. You shouldn't be paying more than this.

I agree 100%, even though I prefer to buy the carts, I would love to be able to afford the digital downloads and for those who do buy digital they are pretty much being punished for doing so.
