I am seriously in the market for a proper wagon. I seriously considered the Ford Flex. Its gas mileage is 16/23mpg city/hwy and curb weight is 4400 lb. It’s 280 hp engine was designed in 2010 and last refreshed in 2013. Ford’s not letting it die in 2020. Ford killed it years ago and it’s just taking this long for it

How much is a used Model X these days? Still out of OP’s budget?

the anti-jalopnik answer- Used tesla model s

Being 50% over budget seems seems to back up the Trackhawk being overkill.

I cannot imagine any circumstance in which a person with a five-figure income would regularly be driving in Manhattan.

If LA wants to improve congestion, we first need to address the shortcomings of housing and public transportation.

The Ram 1500 gets a reported 27 mpg which is really freaking good for a truck that has the capability to tow 9600 lbs. To compare, my gasoline Sierra 1500 gets 18 mpg if I’m lucky and can only tow 7700 lbs

I definitely wouldn’t want to go full EV since I sometimes end up far away from civilization for some of my trips.

I work in the EV industry as a design engineer too. I’ve been toying with the idea of making my purpose-built offroad truck (mostly rock-crawling) hybrid or electric powered once I get the overall suspension performance where I want.  This is deepening my want to do that.

There’s a difference between looking human and making your company seem amateurish.

As I commented on in another thread, that was an amateurish presentation and unveil.

Most importantly, the flight data and voice recorders have been recovered and are on their way to be inspected (not sure where). As soon as that happens - I’m hoping in the next few days - there should be a good indication as to whether the accident was a result of the anti-stall mechanism or not. Also, according to

It’s not a ludicrous idea, although we won’t hold our breath over the exact name.

I am in that exact situation. We have a 2016 Dodge Journey Crossroad with a zero interest loan that I would love to trade in but I really like not paying any interest. I know that reviewers seem to hate the Journey but in all honesty, it has been perfect for the 45,000 miles that it has on it and we don’t hate it. I

If someone is shopping for a car using monthly payments as their guide to how much they can afford, I’d also assume that they are unaware of how much a car depreciates in the first three years.

I dunno if I agree with that. A 5-year loan is fine in some cases perhaps a 6-year loan could be appropriate on a high value (read: reliable) car that you plan on owning for a long time.

My pet peeve is when the critics focus so much on the APR, often with comments like “That’s like $5,000 in interest over the life of the loan!”

electric-only drive modes for speeds up to 81 mph and distances up to 31 miles

Woe is you, driving your family across the eastern seaboard is inconvenient.

Hey wait a minute, doesn’t an electric version already exist?
