Obligatory

But RWD > AWD. Always...

If only we could get something like the Toyota Alphard in the USA. It’s like a first-class airplane interior on four wheels.

That’s what i have been saying for years. Allow full EV’s to go as fast as they want and every car nut will want one. Range anxiety will hold them back from doing it all the time but then they already bought one.

Absolutely the case—messing with the unrestricted autobahn is a hobby horse of politicians who pander to those who are angry at those who drive quickly and don’t like noise. I’m all for banning diesels from the city center, they produce harmful particulate emissions in densely populated areas and there’s a clear link

A true story, unfortunately. You can still manage to make some seriously good time driving late at night mid-week. And, there is a derestricted section between my home and office where I exceed 200km/h on a daily basis. But, most of the time, yes, it’s just sitting in traffic and roadworks.

Having recently done a German toad trip from the Nurburgring to Munich, I can report that the unlimited autobahn is already on life support. A huge portion already has strictly enforced speed limits.

Cadillac! Hey, Cadillac! It’s your cousin, Lincoln! You know that profit margin you were looking for?! Well...

But from where I’m sitting, the details surrounding this attempt at a Cadillac comeback are vague at best and totally unclear at worst, with much of it hinging around the strength of “the brand.”“

As a long time GMer, I’m so done with the fucking excuses and mismanagement and hollow vapid ra-ra quotes that don’t amount to shit. Always late to the party and looks as if they just got dressed. The worst kind of late. If you’re gonna be late, at least make an entrance. Have the room entranced. Cadillac does neither.

It’s definitely more satisfying to “row your own” gears. That said, today’s autos do it better (more reliable* and efficient). Besides, you can always use the +/- on the shifter column if you want to manage the torque yourself. It’s insanely expensive to EPA certify two powertrain options (well three, because there

Basically none - especially since the 6MT RAM was relegated to the weaksauce LO Cummins anyway. We buy these trucks to pull - the extra HP and Torque the Automatic engine provided were way more useful then the feeling of a (pretty miserable) manual transmission.

I’ve said it before, but I prefer a manual for towing. I can see a hill ahead, and downshift prior to reaching it, so I’m already higher in the power band when I start to climb. With an auto, you wait until the truck starts to climb, then you need to mash the throttle to not lose speed. The result is a full-throttle

I fully grok the sports car enthusiast’s love for manual transmissions, but someone talk me through the truck enthusiast’s perspective. Do people drive their trucks seeking a sense of involvement and engagement like I do a sports car?

Because now my only option is a Mark X GRMN with 2 extra hp!

It’s beautiful, open your eyes and witness its beauty.

Been there. Done that.

Easy answer: GM should design and produce better looking, higher quality parts for a car that wants to eat at the big kids table. The margins exist. It’s a matter of desire and dedication to being better, or in this case, the lack thereof.

Agreed. The Flex would be so much more appealing if it didn’t have such poor fuel economy.

This is what happens when you send gun enthusiasts to do a truck enthusiast’s job.
