Do you have any proof of this or is it all hearsay and urban legend? Because, from where I'm sitting, that Skinner's Butte, and the statue that inspired Jemediah Springfield are both in Eugene/Springfield, coupled with Matt's admission, I'd say my case is pretty strong.

I think you've got Moe's wrong. This is Max's Tavern in Eugene, OR (less than 1 mile from Springfield, OR). Additionally, it looks identical inside and in an early Simpsons episode, Moe's is spelles "Meaux's" (awfully similar to Max's)
