Oh, most of Funimation loves the TFS guys. Sabat’s been their biggest supporter, but they are also good friends with Eric Vale and I believe Monica Rial. And both Justin Briner and Amber Lee Connors got on their radar thanks to their work at TFS. It’s Toei that hates them.

The jokes they wrote were so good, though.  More than enough to differentiate it from the original.  Total Samurai Pizza Cats style.

Does anyone else find it oddthat they compare their projects to actual franchises when they’re just overlaying referential parody dialogue over existing footage without changing the actual plot of the original material

LOL, Toei’s been pretty clear that the head honchos very much despise TFS. They actually ran into TFS in an elevator during a con and it was a very uncomfortable ride. Also, Toei didn’t just cut the TFS dub clip from Kai (it didn’t make it to broadcast either, as Toonami used part of it in their promos, and Toei put a

The movies with Trunks in them are all *amazing*. There’s little bits of continuity, and the jokes are well timed, and they were firing on all cylinders.  The little callbacks “Can we please not tell my dad there were more androids?” were great.  I still go back and rewatch the last few movies occasionally.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged as always the superior Dragon Ball experience.

I will never forget that fate was an H-game!

Often creepy, yes, commonly associated with the Yakuza, certainly, actually involved in prostitution, heavy no. That was a silly moral panic that passed by years ago, for the simple reason that it’s a far, far too visible and public enterprise for such seriously illicit activities. If you want to hear about human

We went to Akihabara on a quiet night and I was extremely excited to go check out the arcades, electronic shops, and anime displays. Instead of massive arcades full of classic games and an active (arcade) nightlife scene, we found were creepy nerdy dudes playing those claw machines only instead of stuffed animals, it

I god damn loathe region exclusivity.

That’s fine. VPN everyone!

Ugh god... You comic commenters are just the freaken worst. No comments on the subjects, no witty remarks about the comics... It’s just “this one sucks” and “this comic is the best the rest of them suck” and “x is 1st, y is 2nd, z is 3rd”.

That monitor wasn’t being used for anything of value and he complied with their request for him to stop. Total dick move

grow up? the airport is filled with monitors and maps, and from the picture it’s the middle of the night.

Sorry, but the real question is “when are they going to release another proper Might and Magic game?”

I get the idea behind NerfNow, but Rey isn’t a Mary Sue. She’s a Creator’s Pet. She DOES fail, but it’s mostly other people suffering the consequences rather than her herself.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say the comic is more about how boring she is, as a character, and that the amount of time both the second and third movie spent trying to undo the film that preceded them could’ve been better spent in making her—if she has to be the main character—more interesting.

Just pointing out, if the books that matched the movies are still cannon, Luke spent somewhere between 3 to 4 1/2 months with yoda.  And before its said, I'm too upset about retarded bomber design to be bothered by Rey.

Now playing

And the funny thing? The same damn thing happened to my boomer generation! My eldest brother (born in 1951) was drafted to go to Vietnam, where he went through Hell and suffered it’s aftereffects for the rest of his life (he died in 2016 at 65 of cancer). He was sent by members of the previous generation.

Life in Aggro hit it clean out of the park this time. The connection between a max-level, epic NPC sending a new player character off to do something they could do quickly and with little risk and the fact that much of the older generation is currently telling younger folk to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps”
