@Spikette: When she was younger, my daughter sometimes declined to wear a jacket, even though to me the weather felt cold. I could wrestle it on to her and deal with a constant running battle about it for the rest of the day, or I could let her be a little chilly and happy and maybe learn a lesson of her own making.

@I'm Ron Burgundy?: I get what you're saying, but I don't know that it's accurate to say that we've been robbed of his voice - we've just lost the vocal manifestation of it. I know I still hear that in my head when I read his essays. To me, his writing is really his "voice."
