I have Jennifer Grey’s old nose. I do often get told I’m pretty and attractive but in the back of my mind I think “yeah sure, in spite of my nose..” When I was younger I seriously contemplated getting a nose job but then I would keep being reminded of Jennifer Grey and how she looked so regular once she made that

I’ve thought about Botox and decided against it. If I don’t look angry and tired all the time people might try and talk to me more.

I didn’t realize that was her in the picture above. From the home page, I thought it was one of the Real Housewives.

I dream of being able to wear a bathrobe like that.

I rewatched the original recently (thanks, Netflix!) and had forgotten how much of the movie Maureen O’Hara spends wearing HER EX-HUSBAND’S BATHROBE. I love Natasha Richardson in the remake, but my goodness was Maureen O’Hara perfect.

Also, the stepmother-to-be in the original, Vicki, plays Meredith’s mother in the remake.

Wait. There are people who actually think the 90s version is better?

Lena is an absolute powerhouse. There was one specific line delivery she had last night (I wish I could remember what it was) where I just looked at my friend and said “god, she’s good.”

I think that was more about Theon being able to be a Stark AND a Greyjoy. Like, you can be honorable AND beat someone to death on a beach. Which will set up Jon figuring out how to accept being a Stark AND a Targaryan next season. I’m just glad he’s going back for Yara.

I think the GOT death rule is that nobody’s dead until you see them die, and even not then. Light a candle for my ginger prince, tho. He needs to make those giant babies with Brienne!

He was also delightful in the GoT musical skit!

I loved that at the 2016 Oscars she stood up and personally hugged each survivor who was on stage with Lady Gaga during her performance. She seems like a very genuine person who truly cares about the issue.

Google is your friend.

She could’ve given the weakest, emptiest of PR statements, but we get this. Brie Larson is a class act.

This is one of the best statements I’ve seen from a celebrity. Reading “I believe you” is so, so powerful.

You hit the nail on the head. Racism in Boston and New York is different to racism in charlottesville. It’s curiously white neighbourhoods and schools contrasted with neighbourhoods of colour that somehow have a much lower median income, and schools that are objectively worse. Eric Garner didn’t get murdered in

The expression “blood is thicker than water” originally meant that the bond between comrades is stronger than family, as in bathing in the blood of your enemies is a pretty powerful bonding experience, and it has been bastardized into meaning the exact opposite.

I know it’s not shocking, but it’s heartbreaking to hear someone talk about how their own mother chose whiteness over their children. And wanting to take you to a step-family’s Thanksgiving? Just gross.

Unsolicited advice from someone who survived a very necessary estrangement from her own mother: beware of anyone who attempts to convince you that you should be able to look past this. I wish someone had told me 20 years ago that “blood is not thicker than safety.” Thank you and good luck.
