Stranger Things 4 needs to reference Heathers, is it too soon for Heathers? My 100% favorite Winona ever.

“Boundaries” set off my anachronism alarm. That didn’t feel like 80s language to me at all (I was 14 in 1985.)
That said, all was forgiven when I saw El’s pink cassette radio. I had that silly thing and took it with me everywhere!

I think she’s retired, not sure she’d want to wear a bathing suit in her first scene after 20+ years off screen. Maybe a Bob’s Burgers voice role would be a more comfortable welcome back—Kevin’s Mr. Fischoder.

there’s a burgeoning underground queer POC punk/metal scene in Providence, RI. still pretty underground, but a lot happening. just fyi.

They didn’t do that episode, obviously. But who would be the modern-day equivalent of Sammy Davis Jr. in that scenario? A few years ago, I’d put my money on Kanye, but he’s lost his everlovin’ mind.

Dude also flew bombing missions over Nazi Germany. He’s a goddamned hero.

Just watched it last night and of the whole cast Tomei absolutely killed every line they gave her. I was skeptical, but she nailed it!

Neither was Achilles, right?

Just checked and it’s only available for purchase through iTunes. Not streaming/rentable anywhere at the moment.

Just realizing that I’m at a point in my life where the Kirby/Fisher relationship is way more aspirational than the Crystal/Ryan relationship, and that I’m really happy about that.

Suggestion for this feature: where can we find these movies now? Ten Things I Hate About You isn’t on any of the streaming services, which was really annoying because I totally wanted to watch it after reading your article about it last week, but you can rent/buy it from iTunes. Boomerang is available on Hulu, so

She’s also responsible for Letters to Cleo being cast as the band that Kat loves, according to Kay Hanley. Love her for that.

What you did there, I see.

Warren Zevon. Heartbreaking last album.

Costco used to require a UPC code on each panel of a package. This was supposed to expedite scanning, but you can imagine there’s the increased possibility of scanning it twice, once on the conveyor, once with the gun, etc. I don’t think they require this any longer for that very reason.

I always thought it was for the same reason that Superman is depicted with blue highlights. The limited scope of comic book (inside pages) printing (esp 20-30+ years ago) meant that jet black hair looks flat and blocky unless you add a contrasting color highlight to give it motion and shape.

yup, and Dean Cain played Karas adopted father. It all goes back to Noel Neill, the original Lois Lane. She appeared in both 1978 Superman and Superman Returns. I think thats where the tradition of bringing back Superman alumni began.

Doesnt Slater play her adopted Earth mom on the show? I’ve always liked how the Superman franchise repurposes its veterans. Theres a nice continuity in that.

Didnt Roseanne make a similar “joke about Susan Rice? Shes got a track record and shes full of shit.
