I just priced it in Mitchell Collision Estimating & Reference Guide (body shop book) at $2291.63 for what that's worth. I'm not sure where they get their prices, or how much they change. The book is August 2012.

You'd think if anyone could understand the value of divergent things coexisting, it'd be Adam Carolla, since the 80% of him whose greatest contribution to humankind is processing buffet food into rich, healthy nightsoil coexists with the 20% of him that has spectacular taste in cars and a really terrific car

I tossed around the idea of buying an old firetruck a few years ago for this purpose. Tons of compartments to store food, beer, tvs, grills, the like. And I was going to fill the tank and bring a giant slip and slide.

Highway Patrol here in Florida was touching our statutes inappropriately by writing tickets for violation of FS 316.2397 part 7 which is about non emergency vehicles having flashing lights other than turn signals (which may as well be included since no one uses them). I'm not sure any laws were changed, but at least

I think the STIs from around '06-'07 did that. Not sure about the newer ones.

Some have laminate side windows. Not too surprising on a Maybach. I've seen it on some Cadillacs.

If you must have 4 doors. Otherwise get the 128i with sport package and 6 speed. It'll save you over a thousand dollars, it's over a hundred pounds lighter, and comes with a 3.0L inline six capable of making 230HP. Seems like a much better package.

Stoked for you Jason. When I read the story I hoped I could help somehow, but I'm here in Florida. Props Cali Jalops on a job well done.

Beginning of the vid you see the car lose control in the oncoming lanes off to the left. Swerves across traffic and the fencing keeps the car from exiting the road and redirects it toward the camera car. Just as you pass the car and dust cloud you can see where the fence was taken out.

To answer your questions, engine is a mid mounted flat six on all Boxsters, mine is a 2.7L and is on an engine stand about 50 feet from the chassis, but I'm guessing that's not really your point. Anyway, back to clearing up what we're talking about. I agree there seems to be some sort of transverse mounted enginey

I cannot easily see them doing this. Who's job is it to fuel the car? That person ought to know the difference between gasoline and diesel, and know the local pump labeling system. Inexcusable.

We had a rental car around 1993, give or take, in England. I can't remember what car it was, but the horn button was on the end of one of the column stalks. Anyone know what car this might have been? I remember the car was fairly small.

Agreed, not a well thought out design. But not very counter-intuitive. Makes perfect sense how it works. It's just a piece of crap.

+1 sir.

What did you end up with?

C1 generally considered to be '53 -'62.

IT'S A TRAP!!!

Boxster chassis. I actually own a Boxster which is stripped down to the frame. Spot on. That's definitely what it is. Heavily modified and many bits cut off though. The double hoop roll bar behind the seats is OE.

Wait, if the key doesn't have to stay in the car the whole time it's running carjacking just got much easier. I'll just go down to the mall break into a car and wait for the owner to get close enough to start the car. Then I'm off, and he's standing there with a key and befuddled expression.
