You’ll be happy to know the pro-Marvel people (as opposed to the pro-DeSantis people) have weighed in and are generally excited about this movie and have pushed the pro-DeSantis people off the primary comments section.

Not sure if all the actual fans finally woke up to watch, but the comments are overwhelmingly positive, which is surprising considering the typical hate for new trailers. Hoping it stays that way.

And people wonder why comments sections are turned off. The day I comment on a YouTube video will be the day I shuffle off this mortal coil.

It’s so “woke” Ron DeSantis is gonna announce his presidential campaign in response.

This looks like a whole lot of fun. Every do themselves a favor though and stay the fuck away from the Youtube comments. Holy shit, people are awful.

Says a guy looking for hard hitting news on a goofy blog with top 10 listicles pinned.

  You're mistaking outrage for contempt.

Yeah, maybe, but most of them by age 51 (Musk), at least learn to be discreet. It’s one thing to chuckle internally, and another to paint over the logo of a company publicly, call rescue workers pedos, tweet 420 and get in trouble with the SEC.

This guy never matured past 12.

and one of my deep sorrows about JJ’s ‘Force Awakens must reset the story to be Rebels vs Imperials again’ mindset is that it robbed us of actually seeing a functioning, growing New Jedi Order.

Finn was one of the most interesting characters in the main Star Wars saga — that got totally marginalized over the course of 3 movies. (Before TFA, when we had no idea who these characters were, I thought he was gonna be the main hero... and he’s relegated to one of the hero’s friends by the end.)

Sure — every time a movie releases that fails in some respect everyone who points that out that should ring up the studio and demand they be put in charge of a remake. That’s asinine.

While some (even most) of the Mario games at this point are very forgettable calling the games at large “middle of the road children-focused fare” does them a disservice. Super Mario World, Mario 64, and Mario Odyssey are all master piece platformers with Sunshine and the Galaxy series being far above average games.

And yeah, it’s a kids movie. There’s references and jokes that will make the parents chuckle, but that’s it.

Having a game studio step in and say, “Make it worse!” has rarely been a reason not to complain about a movie.

No movies have to be very good. No movies have to be anything. It’s just nice when movies are very good!

Children deserve good movies, too.

Certainly the complete polar opposite approach of the Mario movie from 30 years ago, with the cast actually getting drunk during filming.

I think people were expecting Shrek or the recent Puss in Boots. A movie that kids could enjoy and adults could as well. Not a movie explicitly for kids and not really anyone else.

I’m not offended by kids movies being purely for kids, but I don’t think that needs to be an excuse either. Shaun the Sheep is delightful nonsense for a kid or an adult.

That said, I’m still looking forward to taking my kid to see Mario and I am sure I have sat through far worse.
