I didn’t see anything in the article about flying in cargo, but may have missed it. Yes, they generally all require the dog be in the cabin now, and it has to be in a carrier when in the cabin. All of that seems compatible with the events of the story from what I can tell.

This seems completely in character for what a boob he is. 

Finn was an incredibly promising character, with a huge philosophical arc ahead of him after TFA, both with potential latent Force powers, and overcoming how he started and finding himself. And all of that was just stripped away and dropped. Massive waste. I’d love to see him get his due, somehow.

Keep in mind, the button on your TV remote or sound system that silences the audio is also called “mute,” so I don’t think the word is wrong here. It refers to silencing audio in a variety of circumstances and environments.
