Middle america found Avatar’s politcs too confusing to follow. The movie can be boiled down to “Don’t murder people and steal their shit because they are a different colour than you.” and they still found a way to hate it because murica.

It was an inspired choice to cast the Sexiest Man Alive, Sir Patrick Stewart, as ugly ol’ Gurney Halleck.

I think MacLachlan projected a classically heroic vibe. Chalamet certainly captures Paul’s youth, but he strikes me as maybe too callow.
