I'm totally fine with CivBE having different mechanics and systems from Alpha Centauri, but why oh why didn't it have the characters voice their own quotes? They had the voice actors and the characterization already figured out! That would have been an okay thing to steal from your predecessors, guys!

I think that might have been one of the reasons religion was shelved. It makes sense for certain factions to have religions, but the themeing starts to break down when they can spread — or get subsumed by another. It's not "unrealistic" or anything, but imagine an ARC religion overtaking the Protectorate? Or if they

Wow, that really looks like it's up my alley. Go figure, read a review of Beyond Earth and end up buying Endless Legend.

(To be fair, I'm still going to by Beyond Earth. I just finished a Space Race victory in Civ V to prepare!)

Nope! Hooray!

Oh yeah. That's going in the archive.

I reserve the right to consider a lower-back tattoo a bad decision. Miscalculation Application?

Right, presumably they didn't pick kids who read videogame blogs in their free time.

Glad I checked the "pending comments" before I posted.

All the teams hold up their flags in their team booths.

I'd never watched Screen Junkies before. That managed to be a funny, on point rant that didn't tip over into simply being angry. Definitely watching more of their stuff.

I lost it when they got to the last piece of advice.

I so impressed by how authentic the TV show looked (good looking "retro" TV is surprisingly rare) that I didn't even notice the kid. I'm...easily impressed.

Your mileage may vary on whether or not this constitutes "high quality," and it took place in the 60's, but here you go:

I'm amazed that there isn't an InuYasha AMV for this song.

Both Gundam and Mass Effect draw on the same inspiration. Space Colonies were big in the '70s.
