I'm an Engineer at Johnson Controls where we make the inner structure for the Recaro seats on the C346 program mentioned in the article. While our seats are very strong, they are tested to OEM standards, like you mentioned. I would not use one of the C346 Recaro's in any kind of off-road racing scenario.
