The first one doesn't make sense, the second is highly subjective and sounds like it was written by a butt hurt fanboy, and I'll give you the third if only because I've never been a huge fan of the GSIII design.

Honestly, they do it before any major announcement. Just recently, people (not unlike yourself) were complaining when they were giving MS so much attention when they were announcing a bunch of stuff. Same was true with Google's announcements earlier this year.
