We may not know it, but we are all actually contractually contractually obligated by the universe to let Beyonce have full creative control over everything she’s involved in. We signed it as part of the agreement before we were born, and there are HUGE penalties in the afterlife for noncompliance.

I just finished rewatching Jane the Virgin the other day, so I’m super stoked about the Gina Rodriguez news (even though I still kind of ship her and Ben Schwartz, based on one picture of them together 2+ years ago).

I don’t know who Chrissy Metz is and I didn’t follow the link, so I don’t know the context, but I really like that as a standalone quote. It has neither “their loss” nor “they’re just not that into you” vibes, each of which seems to put one party at fault for someone not being interested, when a lot (maybe most) of

Does it start with a silent P and rhyme with schmycological schmexperiment?

I think he might be wearing a head band?

My impression has always been that he’s sort of a dick, but more because he’s a socially awkward nerd who thinks he’s being funny, than because of ill intent.

Why not ourselves?

Oh, I was unaware of that, and it does add another layer. But I still think it’s fine if she didn’t know him as a kid (which would create a power imbalance, in my opinion). How you view a teenager you see on TV vs. how you view a real live adult would, I’d think, be very different.

Right? I dunno, how do you talk to your parents/kids, coworkers? Life is more than common childhood interests.

My friend started using it recently and I asked him why. Apparently, the internet is all about that word this week.

I think Highlifebudget is just suggesting that they both go by Kloss or a portmanteau, which would avoid the KKK issue altogether.

This is a good idea! It’ll probably be more like, at the end of the month I’ll have rent money more comfortably, but just seeing it in one lump sum will be helpful.

Sometimes I think the age gap stuff has more to do with perception than actual age difference— like, we’ve known about Heidi Klum for 20 years-ish, so when she rolls out a boyfriend who looks about 23 (despite being nearly 30), it seems more jarring than it actually is.

This is already an exciting side effect. I was at the store and subconsciously started budgeting for alcohol, then remembered “Hey, I don’t have to do that anymore!”

I’m looking into more formal support and have let a couple friends know.

That could be really helpful. Any specific recommendations?

Thanks for this info. Luckily, I don’t need medical detox and physically feel a lot better already. I hadn’t heard of LifeRing, but it sounds a lot more my speed than AA. Ideally, I’d do counseling, but I’m uninsured and looking into sliding scale therapy seems overwhelming for now.

So, I see what you’re saying about monetizing it and her team (potentially) being more out for themselves and their own bank accounts than her well being, but also I believe that demons thrive in the dark. (Not my phrase. I think Cat Marnell was the first person I heard use this particular quote.) I think it’s better

Yeah— it was trolling so blatant, I wasn’t even bothered. Plus, like, the blatant hypocrisy of calling me an attention whore while trolling. It’s even funnier knowing they were just repeating themselves.

Oh I know. And thank you. But I could see myself wondering something similar a few years ago, so I thought I’d give an explanation.
