The problem with art and the free exchange of ideas is that it’s all fun and games (or, rather, communal suffering) until big money gets involved, and the people tend to scramble towards their own best interests, and when things weren’t clearly defined in the first place with legal documents, this is a messy,

Definitely objectification. They don’t speak, they don’t really do anything except hold and open the briefcases. They are, essentially, nothing but briefcase-holding objects. It really is catering to the (straight) male gaze, though, to have only pretty women doing the briefcase-holding. Even having even numbers of

And I loved the part about how it makes negotiating take longer, because yeah, no shit having to negotiate takes longer than not negotiating.  Real cutting-edge management thinking there.

Lol, union contract negotiations only get dragged out for so long because employers are usually the ones dragging them out as painfully long as possible to try to undermine the union and sap the energy from the organizers.

Another reminder that if they are fighting against it, it means that it will be better for the employees. If unions truly would end up getting the employees lesser pay raises and other benefits, they would push that harder than anything else in the world for all employees to get into.

Yes but that’s the GOOD kind of small minority of employees choosing on behalf of everyone else. Duh

a small minority of employees shouldn’t get to choose on behalf of all their colleagues.”

Shit-birds of a feather flock together.

What Whoopi is saying is ridiculous. It can be two things (game show contestants wanting money & also audiences objectifying the young woman presenters)

Yep! Collective Bargaining is “Slow” only because actually bargaining and hashing out a deal requires time and effort. Much easier to tell your employees to piss off and die.

The greatest trick HR ever pulled was convincing employees it was there for them.

We feel collective bargaining is comparatively slow”

Unspoken: “Because we can immediately say no to any requests when collective bargaining isn’t present.”

Yup. They’ll continue using the anti-union SOP disinformation and scare tactics to undermine the union vote, because ‘unions are bad.’

That response is boilerplate nonsense. The company is always the one slowing down negotiations and the CBA is always dated to the start of negotiations.

We think a direct dialogue between company and employees is the most productive route.

LOVE IT! Fingers crossed we’ll see unionization accelerate across the entire industry over the next 5-10 years.

That’s reason to go after the bosses, not write off the victims. Christ.

Ooooh this rubs me the wrong way. Jennifer Hale getting paid a shitload while saying everyone should get paid well after taking over a role because she’s Jennifer Hale.

If the lead of a major video game series can’t afford to run a car based off work on said series then maybe it’s not a sustainable industry? So if everyone took your advice we would get shittier games?

Don’t do the Johnny Depp trial thing now where it’s all the woman’s fault and poor little Johnny is innocent. More than likely, Right Wing male grifters are going to push that agenda.
