I don't see the arrogance though. He thinks his work is good, and when you're creating something, belief in what you're making is a powerful thing.
Unless you do some hardcore image editing, video editing or 3D modelling, you seriously don't need 16GB of RAM. I have 4GB of RAM in my desktop and I never max that all out, and that's with plenty of stuff open. Pray tell why a games console would ever even need as much as 8GB of RAM (given it should be much more…
Agreed, people are always really keen to pounce on Mr.Blow and I've always seen him as pretty harmless. All he did was make a joke about the number of explosions (which is totally fucking fair given the amount of explosions there were and have occurred since he showed it).
You can tell from the disjointed and tenuous way Crysis 2 was linked to Crysis 1 that it was a massive push to rebrand the game for a console audience. The game's physics were completely taken out to die, objectives are spelt out to you more obviously, with funneling down a tunnel and random graphical set pieces…
Yes. I haven't even bothered keeping up with the hype on this one because Crysis 2 was terrible, and this looked like more of the same but with more jungle-ness. Even the first isn't super amazing, but the fact it's more open than your average shooter and has some great physics at least gives it some originality. Oh,…
Agreed, it's a little excessive. But unless SOMEONE buys it, it never becomes a viable product to introduce to market, and the less quickly graphics technology accelerates forward. So those people who buy ridiculously overpriced hardware are actually making things better for you and me.
Let's face it though, there was never any real dialogue or communication there, if anything it was just a power struggle which is always gonna bait the people with weapons. Not only that, the crowd quickly ascertains that they are on the moral high ground because they're not 'the assholes with guns'. I understand the…
Huh?
You're quite right, I was misinformed. The guy who my housemate knows is the environmental artist and is doing a masters degree, everyone else seems to be out of university though. Thanks for correcting me :).
Yeah, new dashboard on the Xbox is a fail, but Microsoft already know they have people hooked into the console and service this late into the game, and that it's unlikely it will put people off that much. Ah well.
Ha, wow, this is being made by my housemate's friend, it's a university project. Which means, yeah it looks pretty awesome, but don't forget it's being made by students :P. Craziness.
Ah, I found the answer to my own question on Wikipedia, apparently 'Alain Corre, Ubisoft's Executive Director of EMEA Territories, commented that the Xbox 360 release "did extremely well", but considered this success "too late" to make a difference in the game's poor sales'.
Perhaps you're right, but I assume Rayman Origins at least sold quite well to warrant a sequel. Also, while Beyond Good & Evil wasn't strong at the time, one would've thought that lifetime sales wouldn't be too bad with all the crowing about it from game critics.
Nah man, Michel Ancel is a pretty big asset for them. The guy was the project designer and lead on Rayman, Rayman 2, Beyond Good & Evil (and of course 2), Rayman Origins and now Rayman Legends. You'd have to be pretty stupid to fire him.
You need to calm down man :|. Fine, his post wasn't terrible well thought out, but that makes you want him to die, and painfully? You should probably look at examining your own mental health mate :/.
Oh balls, you didn't miss portal, reading comprehension fail :P. Also to the moon, unless that's what you meant by I wish I was the moon.
You missed portal :P, but yeah I approve, that's a great list of games there, I don't know whether you've played antichamber yet but I'd add that too. I like the sentiment though, it's startling how few games really try and show us something new given a medium that has almost limitless potential.
Certainly, I've played it quite a lot growing up. Always good fun :), it works because it has a good mix of skill and luck most of the time.
Whoa, I was just thinking that's the easiest and best solution I can think of. Turns out its already out there. Good show.
