If she were an Atheist, she would never have been nominated... because despite all protestations to the contrary, you are not making to the Supreme Court unless you claim to follow Jesus (with a few exceptions for Jewish justices - 8 out of 120), because there is a unspoken religious requirement.

Yeah, after days of “We’re going to be respectful... unlike those nasty Democrats were!”...

While Cruz was very obviously the biggest douchebag (a universal truth, no matter what room he finds himself in), Tillman and his insistence that Democrats trying to claw our way back to something resembling a balanced court would be considered court-stacking are what had me fuming.

This. School sports should be focused on team-building and athletics, y’know, things we need our kids to learn.

That may have worked a decade ago, but Republican voters have long since abandoned any desire to pretend to be fiscally responsible... which is why everything is so openly hateful now.  Fiscal responsibility was the curtain they hid their nastiness behind, and for current voters... the nastiness is the entire appeal.

I never implied a majority... the majority of water in the universe is solid. But, since you seem to want to make the point that most white men DON’T condition their wives to be subservient, I’ll just point to Christianity (the dominant religion for white men the world over).

Considering the only way to do that appears to be open disdain for our democracy coupled with allusions to authoritarian rule... I’d say you’re extremely correct.

Is that what I stated? Let’s try some other examples of statements that are easily understood without the need for further specification... but ones you wouldn’t get immediately defensive over:

The American people want a Supreme Court justice who will protect their families’ freedoms, not be a rubber stamp for government overreach into private family decisions.”

Same here... have had it since early high school, probably, and 99% sure I got it from my dad who’s had it his whole life. Comes and goes, but never gone.

Large groups - I’ll split the check into singles/couples/families

she’ll be treated much better than Democrats typically treated Republican nominees like Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh”

Because they may be sympathetic towards people that our white-supremacist justice system had historically targeted, and takes us one step further away from a white-nationalist/supremacists authoritarian interpretation of the constitution which has been Mitch’s life-long goal.

The entire appeal of the show can be boiled down to “Was it magic, god or a fever dream”, which they never seemed interested in answering (because then the hook goes away).
